    Care Instructions

Cordovan leather requires different care than calfskin due to its unique properties. Brush and wipe regularly and apply cream occasionally to protect the leather and maintain its rich color.

    Regular Maintenance:

Regularly, brush the leather with our Horsehair Shine Brush or wipe with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth.

To Protect and Restore Color, Follow These Steps:

STEP 1: Wipe your shoe down with a damp cloth and allow to dry.

STEP 2: Using your Horsehair Dauber, apply a small amount of Cordovan cream in a circular motion.

STEP 3: While the cream is still slightly wet, take our Horsehair Shine Brush and brush back and forth, heating the cream and leather. This allows the natural oils to move to the surface to bring out the leather's natural shine.

STEP 4: Next, use the soft side of our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth to buff the shoe until the surface is no longer tacky. Often, some excess cream will transfer onto the cloth, which is normal.

STEP 5: Take our Heel Dressing applicator and press against the edge of the heel and sole.

    Relaxed Fit

Most people consider a “classic” fit to be a “standard” fit. This fit more closely aligns with the natural shape of your feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot will last a lifetime The boot is well crafted and comfortable. It is made of top notch durable materials and although they are new, I expect they will last a lifetime--a durable good worth price

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second Higgins mill I’ve had the natural chromexel Higgins mill for almost 2 years. My favorite boot and I Also own the iron ranger and wolverine 1000 mile. Saw this boot in brown shell and had to purchase. Glad I did. The shell takes this boot to another level. Exact same sizing which is perfect for my foot. Usually wear an 11 in athletic shoes but 10D fits in most Allen Edmonds. I also own the dalton in shell but I prefer the casual style of this boot. This last also fits me better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No gussetted tongue on a boot Ordered Cordovan boots online. Was disappointed the tongue was not gussetted. I live in a rural area, so one of the reasons I prefer boots is to keep dirt and debris out of my shoes. My other two pair of Allen Edmonds, a Dalton in cordovan; and a captoe both come with gussetted tongues, and they are more of a dress boot with a leather or partial leather soles.

    Picture accuracy

Sometimes with the new website the pictures don't always match the written description of the features that follows so I wanted to confirm the following. The Burgundy includes a black welt/edge, while the brown includes the contrasting "blonde" welt/edge present on the standard CXL HMs, and both include double danite as the outsole as opposed to double JR. Thanks very much for this clarification.
    Asked by: Anonymous
I ordered the brown model and it has a dark brown welt and not the natural welt pictured. I thought about returning it for this reason but I actually rather like the look for dressier occasions so I decided to keep the pair.
