    Care Instructions

STEP 1: Using a damp cloth or sponge, lather our Saddle Soap and apply onto leather to clean and restore its natural oils.

STEP 2: Moisturize the shoes with our Cream Polish to make them supple and soft, following instructions on the product.

STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

*For camo printed leather, simply rub our Leather Lotion onto print with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp cloth.

    Relaxed Fit

The relaxed fit has added space in the toe box. This extra room allows for thicker socks and foot expansion that occurs at the end of the day or during a long flight.

Patton Cap-Toe Boot with Dainite Rubber Sole is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Casual Boot I bought these on a whim, since they were on sale for around $240, and I needed another motorcycle boot. It's a great, durable chore boot. The blue dainite sole really pops on the black leather upper, and obviously provide lots of grip and excellent wear. The leather is thick, yet supple. Comfort is very high, although I am using gel inserts to reduce the oversize - I should have sized down a half size, since these run large. The combination of styling, comfort, and durability really make this a great casual chore or motorcycle or walking around boot. I don't think they dress up at all, they are just a bit too big and chunky for that, IMO. I stick with jeans or corduroy, maybe a chino, but these *barely* rise to office casual, to me. I have other boots for the office. Highly recommended if you can get them for under 300.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Truly handsome boot These boots look and feel great right out of the box, so comfortable and great to look at. I was a little nervous that these would be stiff and rub against my heel, but the leather upper is incredibly soft and pliable. It’s hard to explain unless you’ve had the chance to hold both and feel for yourself, and I know some people are knocking AE for their quality lately, but product quality for these is in a whole other ballpark from stuff made by competitors like Thursdays; you truly get what you pay for here. The burnished coloring on the toe and heel allows each pair to have its own unique look. I’ll second what I’ve seen other reviewers note: the boot runs wider than expected, even when taking into consideration that you should generally expect that a boot will be roomier than would a pair of oxfords. I wear B width, but this feels more like a D. Not a big problem for me, just go get a thicker pair of socks, but understand it could be a bigger deal for others who prefer a more snug fit. I’ll also note that, although the tan color appears to be pretty close to walnut in the pictures online, it’s not as close in person. I have 2 others pairs of AE shoes in walnut, and it’s a distinctly different color shade from the tan, but you can still get away with pairing a walnut colored belt. The online description also says that you can dress this up or down, but this boot is definitely has a more casual look. The cap toe is a dressier design feature, but the overall look and profile isn’t something that I would recommend trying to pair with a nice suit. Jeans and a sport coat, yes absolutely. I knocked a star off for value because this boot was originally priced around $450 (limited edition!), which is above what I would personally be willing to part with for something like this. Even with the price, my size was hardly ever in stock. That said, I managed to snap up a pair when they first went on sale at around $350, and they’re on sale now, and are a total steal at under $300 if you can find a pair in your size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good looking boot Other than some minor cosmetic imperfections, my main gripe on these boots is the laces. They are grossly too long(52 inches). The Higgins Mill boot has 3 additional eyelets and it Looks like AE went cheap and used those laces on the Patton Cap-toe. I purchased a set of 40 inch round laces. They fit perfectly and look great. Quality boots should come with correctly sized laces. Otherwise, these are good looking boots The Dainite soles are hard wearing and give good traction. The lining is supple but some overall break-in will be needed. I have arthritic feet and ankles, so the relaxed fit is just fine for me. I like the last. It's comfortable and looks good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice boot - Runs wide I was excited about this boot and I liked the quality. I have narrow feet (B). My feet slopped around in this boot even though I ordered B-width.

    Can Patton boots be waterproofed?

I know these aren’t part of the weatherproof series of boots, but I’m wondering if a good waterproofing spray or waxy polish would be effective at making these more water resistant so that you could wear them out in the rain without having to worry about the finish getting stained.
    Asked by: Brian
We would recommmend the water proofer and speed polish for additional protection from dirt, rain, and snow while also providing a lustrous glow.

    What is “waxy kudu leather“?

Is this from the African kudu antelope? Or is it cowhide? If cowhide, how is it different than calfskin used in other boots/shoes? I’ve seen that Horween makes a leather in their Chromexcel line branded as “kudu”. Is this the same leather?

The online photos of colors walnut and tan look identical, except for the finish. Which is darker?

Secondly, with the "waxy" uppers, can these shoes be polished?
    Asked by: Mark
The difference between the Tan and Walnut shoes is the grain. The color is going to be very similar. Yes, these shoes can be polished.
