Why It's Great

Though his work dates back to the 15th century, Renaissance painter and architect Raphael, whose birthplace you can visit in the hill town of Urbino, is still known for making some of the most graceful compositions known to man. We like to think that we bring that same sense of timeless elegance to our Italian loafers, particularly these slip-ons named for the artist's hometown.

How It's Made

The sophisticated appeal of this handsewn moccasin comes in part from its raised stitching. Pairing the clean leather upper with a thin rounded edge leather sole creates a fresh canvas that impeccably frames the shoe's artistic knotted tassel, giving the Urbino a refined appearance that will stand the test of time.

How to Wear It

An excellent choice for gentlemen looking for comfortable footwear that goes with slacks or dress khakis.

Product Care

Allen Edmonds Shoe Care

When caring for your calfskin, use Allen Edmonds Leather Lotion to remove surface residue and to keep leather soft and pliable. To achieve a fine luster, wipe shoes with a damp cloth and allow them to air dry at room temperature. Then, apply a coat of Allen Edmonds Premium Shoe Polish with a cloth or horsehair dauber and allow to air dry.

Urbino Italian Loafer is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 62.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent casual dress shoe. This is my second pair of this shoe. My first pair was recrafted by Allen Edmunds recrafting department and then I saw these on sale and decided another pair was needed! Not really needed but why not! When you find a shoe that you like and it is well made. Buy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent all around The Urbino is an excellent Italian Moccasin. Because shoes are quite important to the overall well being of the body, I read the negative reviews and have this to say: some do not distinguish between an American classic, all weather fortress like the Randolph, Lake Forest and a Moccasin like the gentle quality made Urbino that is a lightweight, dry weather, dress, business casual, travel shoe. Those who are not happy with the thin sole of the Urbino should imagine an Urbino with the same thick sole of a Lake Forest. How would it look then? The answer is: they will never buy it. I've bought a total of 4 in two colors. This explains my assessment of the Urbino.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Leather soft. Wears easily. Leather wears quickly in front. Sole of shoe doesn’t protect front of shoe. Had to put tap in front to protect.

Purchase is for a gift. Can sale shoe item be returned?

Asked by: Ladyluck
Products purchased on AllenEdmonds.com may be returned as long as the item is unused, accompanied by the packing slip, and not customized. Trying the shoes on a carpeted surface will help prevent scuffing on the sole and keep the shoes in returnable condition. Kind of sole?

Hello. I was wondering what kind of sole this shoe has. It is a single leather sole? Double leather sole? I can see that the heel is a combination heel, but didn't see anything about the sole. Thank you.

I have been thinking about buying 2 pairs of the Urbino Italian Loafers. Their seems to be concern about the fit, wear & tear, and the front part of

of the shoe developing a hole after normal use. Have these problems been discussed with the Italian shoemaker? Have these problems been corrected? It would seem foolish to keep on selling a shoe that has problems like this unless the issues have been corrected. Please comment. Thank You. Ray K Houston, TX
Asked by: Ray K
I saw a comment about the toe but can only say that I have two pairs of the Urbino Italian Loafers and that is not an issue at all. In fact I have several other Allen Edmonds shoes and have never had a toe issue or any other issue for that matter. I did just send my 1st pair of Urbino Loafers out to be recrafted a week ago but that was from two years of wearing them.
