Sea Island Suede Loafer is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 165.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worst pair to break in, ever from AE This shoe and its size apparently is for NO SOCKS ONLY. Even without socks it was EXTREMELY difficult - read painful - to get the shoe on. I take an 11 D and have many AE shoes in that size - MANY PAIRS OF AE SHOES. I am now in the mode of HOPING these will break in. Am I wrong? Should I be taking these back to my not-so-local store? Well, I will be if these don't "break in"! OTHERWISE the craftsmen ship is great. Question: are these made in the USA?? Oh, and I rated the value as excellent because I bought them on the big Xmas sale. And I am not recommending to a friend unless they go to the store and get fitted first. I am continuing in the confidence of past experience with "break in".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding casual suedes Nothing more to add to the summary. Perfect suede, construction and fit. Puzzled by the few negative reviews!! These shoes should be worn for the right occasions and during proper weather. They require proper care. Just like any other fine shoes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent casual shoe This one is barely a keeper. Runs small so take yhat into consideration at least mine were. I wear a 10 d in everything. These ran tight but should loosen up a lityle with wear. Socks are out for these ordered at mormal size. Killer looks. Build quslity is a 3-1/2. Should be recraftable but not. As for the good sale price is spot on. Killer looks. None better So I feel generous and give them a 4. Leather quality is decent. If u get one of the "good pairs" u will b happy. At this price its prob worth taking a chance with the knowldge that u may have to go through the pricess if exchange. to get a perfect pair. With all this im considering getting another pair. These are imported so u do take a risk. This style is a high volume popular item so it looks better than other AR imports O have encountered. Ill reccomend this product given the noted conditions. Somilar products from other hrands are worse

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love These More and More I have wanted a pair of Sea Islands since they were introduced, but I could never justify the expense of a non-recraftable shoe at that price. When I saw the sale price plus additional off in cart, I couldn't resist. They are beautiful, and fit perfectly. I can tell these are going to be a Summer go to for me! This is about my 17th or 18th pair of Allen Edmonds, and once again, they are on point.

I normally wear a 11.5 D, but in your kentwood penny loafer I wear an 11 D. What length would you recommend for me in the seaisland loafer?

    Asked by: Anonymous
I wear 11.5 EE in Kenwood loafers and wear 11.5 EEE in the Sea Island. I find all AE loafers in current sizing tend to run narrow. AE length seems to hold true for me, but generally seems narrower than in earlier years. In Nashua I bought 11.5 D and had to send back for 11.5 E

My husband wears a 61/2 EEEEEE do you have any casual shoes in that size

    Asked by: Loggy1331
I am not knowledge of any company that makes shoe that wide. In the 1960's and 70"s Red Wing made an H width. My grandfather who taught me how and why to measure a person's two feet every visit, often said if they had a foot wider than an H we would just have to give them the box. He further said we would not sell shoes that did Not fit, because it only took one pair of shoes that did not fit to ruin a pair of feet. Deceased grandfather Roger Neal Sutton, Sr.

I know this shoe is NOT eligible for the recrafting service but "Can just the heel be replaced?"

    Asked by: Anonymous
While AE won't take the time to do it, any good cobbler will be able to replace the sole and heel.
