STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

Higgins Mill Boot with Tumbled Leather is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 54.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic boots These boots are the most comfortable I have ever owned, and that was true right out of the box. I have never owned handmade boots before, but certainly recognize the difference. Everything about them is of much higher quality with great attention to detail. I will always wear Allen Edmonds shoes in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks good, feels good. Very happy with this boot. Almost no break in time needed. If you’re looking for an everyday boot that looks great, this is it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Two Strikes Before writing this review, I should note that I love AE and I have a couple of pairs that I enjoy wearing. After two orders and two send backs I have decided that the quality control at AE for this particular boot model is lacking. It's also worth mentioning that it was always the left boot that had the issue? First pair of boots, right boot was flawless. Left boot had 3 noticeable cracks in the leather that stood out especially when you flexed the boot. Sent it back for a replacement hoping for better. Second pair of boots arrived 2 days earlier than the estimated delivery date. I was excited. Right boot and left boot were flawless on the outside. I decided to wear them around the house. After a minute, I noticed that the heel cup on the left boot had an issue where the inner lining is quite uneven. Every few steps I would feel that unevenness and for that reason I am sending it back. I am not sure if I want a replacement at this point because I am a little annoyed and disappointed. AE please check your boots because you are losing money with every return, not to mention your reputation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is fantastic boot! This is a great boot that is extremely comfortable on the first wear. I was unsure about the pebble grain leather but it looks awesome. The color of the brown boot has some reddish tones and looks great when polished. I added some medium brown with burgundy cream polish and even a slight mirror shine on toe area where the pebble grain stops. The dainite soles are perfect for this boot and it wears great with jeans or chinos. The pictures online don’t do the boot justice! Another great product from a fantastic company!

I see that the long branch uses the 511 last and this boot uses 1757 last. How will this effect the sizing?

I wear a 8.5 EEE in the long branch boot, I am wondering if a size 8.5 E in the higgins mill boot will be comparable.
    Asked by: lastmanstanding
Generally, we would recommend trying the same size you normally wear and judging the fit from there. Please remember to try your shoes on a carpeted surface to keep them in returnable condition. The 511 last is similar to the 7 last from heel to the ball of the foot, yet with a more rounded, fuller fitting toe. The 511 last is used in many of our boots because of the added room in the toe box. The 1757 last has a noticeably wider forepart for a fuller, more youthful appearance. The toe down view has a rounded profile for a fuller shape similar to the B34. A rounded toe combined with a sleek profile makes the 1757 perfect for boots and other casual silhouettes. It's an easy fitting last with the ideal shape for those who are looking for a more versatile dress-casual look.

Do these boots have a metal shank? Will I be able to wear them through a metal detector?

My job requires me to go in and out of secure areas routinely. I would like a boot that can traverse the security checkpoints without setting off metal detectors.
    Asked by: Zachery
At Allen Edmonds we do not use metal shanks on our welted styles, including the Higgins Mill boots. However, as airport security expands their screening technology and restrictions, they may still detect the metal eyelets or the metal nails we use to hold the heels together in most of our shoes. I like my Long Banch brown boots, but want a more dressy boot - the Higgins Mill black. Will the leather be as soft and will the tow box be as large.

    I wear 13E
    Asked by: John
The feel of the leather is similar. With that said, leather that has been broken in overtime will be softer than a brand new pair. We suggest trying it to see how you like it. The Higgins MIll has a Relaxed Fit. The relaxed fit has added space in the toe box. This extra room allows for thicker socks and foot expansion that occurs at the end of the day or during a long flight. What leather tannery is this from?

"Grained leather" isn't descriptive enough. Is this Horween? Or a lower quality tannery?
    Asked by: ProudlyMadeinUSA
Thank you for reaching out to us. Horween is only used for our cordovan styles. We import our leathers from multiple companies. However, the Higgins Mill is made from high quality full grain leather. If you have any additional questions feel free to contact us 1-877-817-7615 or eservice@allenedmonds.com
