    Care Instructions

Cordovan leather requires different care than calfskin due to its unique properties. Brush and wipe regularly and apply cream occasionally to protect the leather and maintain its rich color.

    Regular Maintenance:

Regularly, brush the leather with our Horsehair Shine Brush or wipe with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth.

To Protect and Restore Color, Follow These Steps:

STEP 1: Wipe your shoe down with a damp cloth and allow to dry.

STEP 2: Using your Horsehair Dauber, apply a small amount of Cordovan cream in a circular motion.

STEP 3: While the cream is still slightly wet, take our Horsehair Shine Brush and brush back and forth, heating the cream and leather. This allows the natural oils to move to the surface to bring out the leather's natural shine.

STEP 4: Next, use the soft side of our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth to buff the shoe until the surface is no longer tacky. Often, some excess cream will transfer onto the cloth, which is normal.

STEP 5: Take our Heel Dressing applicator and press against the edge of the heel and sole.

    Classic Fit

Most people consider a “classic” fit to be a “standard” fit. This fit more closely aligns with the natural shape of your feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Man's Show Shoe is exactly what my son wanted for Christmas. He has several pairs of Allen Edmonds. That's why he picks out a pair every Christmas. They are well made, comfortable and can be resoled when necessary. These were on sale which made them even a better purchase.

Any servicemen use these with their Class A uniform?

Are the Leeds Plain Toe Dress shoe airport security friendly?

    Asked by: Roger
Yes, they are airport security friendly. I believe they do have a steel shank in the sole, but it will not set off any metal detectors. I have had this style for the last 16 years and travel through airport security weekly as a pilot.

    Current Leeds vs. Old Leeds

I bought a pair of black leather (non-cordovan) Leeds about 6 years ago. They are the "old style", the one before Leeds 2.0. Can you please tell me whether the current Leeds model -- the one that's for sale now -- would be the same or different than my old Leeds? Thank you!
    Asked by: Christopher
The Leeds currently offered is the original version of the Leeds. Feel free to contact us again if you have additional questions!

How long does the leather sole on shell cordovan shoes remain slippery?

Presently my new shell cordovan derby shoes are slippery when walking on rugs.
    Asked by: Rookie
Once the new leather burnishes and wears a bit they should be nice and grippy. Also, any competent Cobbler can install rubber over the leather if need be but give them some time and wear and you should be fine. Also when you decide its time to resole them there are a few other options you can consider like different rubber/leather combinations on the heal and toe area.
