Addison Casual Penny Loafer is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice shoe, just didn't fit my foot. I wanted to keep this shoe that I found on sale, but it didn't fit right. The right side would hit me just below my ankle bone on my right foot. I thought that this might be because they were slightly too large, but since it is a close out, I couldn't find a 9.5B to try. Normally I wear a 10B in their other shoes. This shoe may fit other people just fine, so if you like it, try it on. I have had this problem with a few other shoes from other manufacturers depending on how they are cut in the ankle area, so I don't think it is a flaw in the shoe. I have they same problem with a pair of McAlistair shoes that I bought from AE and I don't know what to do about it since I have already worn them once.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value and quality at clearance price wbonus discount Nice casual shoe for year-round everywhere wear. Danite sole is a great feature normally available as customization at additional charge. Hearty leather requires brief break-in period to be wearable barefoot. 'Last' is a fashionable narrow design. So, I am glad they made 'EEE' width available without compromising the look.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Regret purchase; sole too stiff Disappointed in this shoe; previous model was terrific in that sole was flexible enough to provide smooth flexibility when walking.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed I waited for the sale and purchased online as a gift for my son. They were obviously second quality and no busness being sold. The leather on one of the shoes was wrinkled; the quality very poor. I read a another review where someone mentioned having the same issue; I wonder if these are the same pair that they boxed up and shipped to us. Even more disappointing was that it was the last pair in his size, thought these were not on clearance at time of sale. Additionally, the sale was over, so a new pair will be a full price. We have been good Allen Edmonds customers, but I think it's time to explore other brands.

This says it is built with the 234 last. But I can't find the 234 in the last section? Is this correct?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, the Addison is constructed on the 234 Last. The 234 last was the first Allen Edmonds last with a non-rounded toe. It is modeled after the 97 last for the best fit for the average foot, but with a less pronounced point and subtly squared-off toe. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

What color show polish do I use on an Addison “natural” color shoe?

    Asked by: Anonymous
We recommend using Leather Lotion to care for Chromexcel leather. Shoe Polish is not effective on this type of leather due to the high oil content. This is a pull-up leather and the appearance of scuffs can be minimized by rubbing your fingers or a cloth in those areas to help redistribute the dyes and oils. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

As the description says these are made with imported leather, does that mean the CXL is not sourced from Horween?

AE does use Horween Natural CXL in some other models, but since the description says they are made of imported leathers, it seems likely that they are not from Horween.
    Asked by: Andrew
Chromexcel leather comes from Horween in Chicago. However all of our shoes state “Imported leathers” because there are other components (including but not limited to linings, soles, insoles, midsoles, etc.) used in production that come from other tanneries around the world. We search the globe for the finest materials to craft our shoes. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

allenedmonds.com vs Nordstrom Addison Penny Loafer

Dear Sir or Madam, I have always loved your shoes and everything your company stands for. I was curious about the Addison penny loafer in brown offered directly form you vs the Addison penny offered through Nordstrom in brown. Is there a difference in color and leather from each store? The Nordstrom seems to be a darker brown and the leather seems to have more of a matte finish. Did A.E. make a special Addison just for Nordstrom or am I just crazy? Any info would be most appreciated. Thank you. -Kody

What Polish to use for the brown?

I may be missing this ... I couldn't find an Allen Edmonds polish to match the Addison shoe color of "4073 Brown." Could you advise? Many Thanks, Niall
    Asked by: Niall
Chromexcel leather does not require polishing due to the high blend of oils infused into the leather. You can redistribute the oils and bring out some shine by simply rubbing a soft cloth on the leather. If you need to clean the shoes, a lightly damp soft cloth can be used or some leather lotion if you would like to add some moisture. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

    Fit

I ABSOLUTELY loved the original Addison but after driving myself crazy just could not dial in a fit. I have a Grayson, Jermyn and Adams in shell cordovan, but for some reason the squared off toe present on the 234 but absent on the 97 just completely throws off the fit for me. The Addison in a 7D was the closest I could get, but it was still too roomy. Do you guys think the poron could do the trick?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Poron is a very thin layer of shock absorbing technology intended to provide cushioning and does not affect the size of a shoe. If you're having difficulty finding a comfortable fit, we highly recommend visiting an Allen Edmonds retail store or retail partner for assistance. Keep in mind, ultimately it's best to try on the shoes and judge the fit based on how you feel in them as it will also be highly dependent on your personal preference in fit or sensitivity to components between styles. http://www.allenedmonds.com/stores Please feel free to contact our customer service team directly at 1-877-817-7615 for better assistance discussing the fit of your shoes.
