MacKenzie Dress Oxford is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from AE quality within a untypical shoe My first impression of the shoes exterior wasn’t terribly overwhelming however once I slipped them on and matched them up with some well fitted chinos there was no denying the the high quality feeling I usually get when wearing an AE shoe. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautifully crafted whole cuts The MacKenzie fits perfectly and looks great. I own another brand of whole cut oxford and these are far superior. I’ve worn these many times and the leather still looks great there are no odd creases anywhere. Beautiful pair of shoes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice design Great looking shoe. Unfortunately it's little loose fit. I had to return this due to size issue. Better to order half a size small.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Quality is going downhill This would have been my 9th pair of AE shoes since buying my first pair 3 years ago. I love AE and they are overall my favorite shoe brand. However I have noticed some disturbing quality issues in some of the last pairs I’ve received, including these MacKenzie’s in brown. This shoe runs large compared to the strand and 5th ave that I own. The quality of the actual leather is amazing. Since these are very minimal looking, any imperfection stands out like a sore thumb. The pair I received had a weird bump in the leather on the right shoe that looked bad after being laced up. It’s almost like the leather wasn’t cut evenly, but not sure. I also noticed that AE has different foot beds in their dress shoes. On my walnut strands, the footbed is a harder and very sturdy, yet molds to your feet nicely. The footbeds in this pair are noticeably cheaper and not as sturdy. My 5th aves have a similar footbed and after about 6 months of wearing them a horrible crease started to form where the heel connects to the shoe (about where your foot arche is). This becomes very uncomfortable to stand in. But what am I suppose to do 6 months after my purchase?! Between the imperfessions and the cheaper insole, I sent these back to the store. AE needs to check their shoes before sending them to customers. I’ve had multiple purchases where I’ve had to send back the shoe due to noticibly bad imperfections. It would also be nice if you guys stocked your stores with more sizes. I wear 7.5D and it’s almost never available when I walk into a store. These are not issues I would expect to see from a pair of shoes MSRP of $400+.

    Heel makeup

I tried this model in the store. It had a leather stack heel with rubber insert. AE shows an all rubber top lift. Which one will it be going forward?

    2531 last

I may keep missing it in the Last descriptor on site, but what is the basics of the 2531 last? I have a whole cut pair from the 333 last which has an elegant elongated toe. This looks more blunt in the pictures. Thanks,
    Asked by: Mick73
The 2531 last was created specifically with the streamlined and sophisticated look of our wholecut collection in mind. When using a single piece vamp the cone must be perfectly angled to accentuate the beauty of the upper without causing disruptions or puckering. The toe has a soft round and elongated look. The purpose of wholecut is not to be trendy but timeless and sophisticated. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
