  • Care

We believe a great pair of shoes or boots is always a solid long-term investment. To keep your favorite footwear in top form for years or even decades to comes, use our 4 Step Shoe Care Process and these essential products.

    1. Clean

Start by applying Saddle Soap with a Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth to remove stains and dirt from the uppers and bring up the leather's natural oils.

    2. Polish

Next, use a Horsehair Dauber to treat your footwear with Cream Polish which renews the color and luster of leather. Any time you want to achieve a truly glossy, high shine, you should instead apply Carnauba Wax Polish.

    3. Dress

Restore the color and surface of the leather on the heels and soles using Heel Dressing.

    4. Protect

Leather Lotion keeps uppers soft, supple and hydrated while a Horsehair Shine Brush is perfect for buffing your shoes to the desired shine. As a last step, spray on Water Protector to guard against harmful moisture and spills and use a Leather Dopp Kit to keep all your care products organized.

    Fit

    Relaxed Fit

The relaxed fit has added space in the toe box. This extra room allows for thicker socks and foot expansion that occurs at the end of the day or during a long flight.

Alpine Lace-to-Toe Boot with Vibram Arctic Grip Rubber Sole is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My First Lace-to-Toe Boots! As the title says these are my first lace-to-toe boots, and I love them. Quality is top-notch, they fit me perfect, the leather used on these is awesome, and with the lace-to-toe design the boots really fit your foot like a glove! I haven't walked on ice with the Artic soles yet, but ever review I've read is they really do work on Ice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Typical Quality and Style These are very comfortable, getting more so with each wear as they break in. Ordered my standard 9.5 size that is the same for my other pairs of AE boots and shoes and they’re perfect. I consistently get compliments on my AE boots and shoes from coworkers and occasionally strangers, and with no branding on them, surprising that others appreciate the look of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Winter Boots The Alpine Lace to Toe's are very comfortable right out the box! They felt broken in from the minute I put them on. The leather is soft, but durable. I'm very hard on my shoes, so I'll have to see if they hold up over time. For now though, I'm very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and versatile I live in a snowy region of the country, and these boots held up well on a morning when I unexpectedly had to shovel my sidewalk before leaving for work. My feet stayed dry, and the soles had good traction. In fact, there’s been snow, rain, or a “wintry mix” pretty much every time I’ve worn them, and they have indeed been weatherproof. I have to walk a lot at work and in the city, and these boots have been very comfortable indoors and out. I’ve had them for a couple of months, and I wear them two or three times a week; my pair haven’t had any of the quality issues described in other reviews, and the 1757 last in 12 EEE is a great fit for my feet. I’ve received compliments when I wear them with jeans and when I wear them with nicer pants and a jacket and tie. I’m a little concerned about maintaining their sheen, and I’m not sure I’ll find something as comfortable and versatile when warmer weather returns.

    QC Issues

I have noticed several of the reviews of this boot mention some pretty serious quality control (QC) issues. I want to buy them (especially during the currect sale), but the mentioned QC issues make me hesitate. Have these issues been addressed? If I experience the same issues after wearing the boot what recourse do I have? Thanks

Don't buy this shoe. I had it sent back to the company and now the same type of problem has occurred again. The glue to the front of the rubber sole is very weak and thin. It unglued but the stichtng was able to hold the rubber.Unfortunately, you can sometimes trip on the flapping front rubber. this time the front rubber sole has begun breaking apart. The other shoes that I ordered are fine but this particular shoe is crafted in a way that is flawed.

    Waterproof Membrane

The boot has a waterproof membrane. Which membrane is it? How breathable is the membrane? Is the membrane GORTEX? What is the RET value?

I purchased the 2866 Tan Grain Alpine Lace-to-toe Boot

What polish is recommended for this boot. You do not seem to have a "TAN" polish. I am looking for the recommended Speed Polish and Cream Polish.
    Asked by: Anonymous
We recommend walnut polish. Our walnut polish can accommodate cognac and tan colors. -AE Consumer Care Dept.

    Are these boots waterproof?

Given that the sole of this boot is engineered to perform on wet ice, is it ok to wear these boots in snow and are they waterproof?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, they live up to the claim of being waterproof. While wearing them, I’ve shoveled snow before work, cleared the car of snow after work, and walked through slushy sidewalks. I bought them in October; they’ve stayed waterproof through an Upstate New York winter, and the sole’s grip has consistently allowed me to walk confidently on slippery surfaces.

What is the material inside the boot? Is it just soft leather or a anti sweat material?

    Asked by: VZ
The inside is soft leather, superior to anti-sweat material which wears out quicker.
