Rated 4 out of 5 by from Budget friendly and very effective I am a novice when it comes to shoe care but after researching online this product appear to do the trick and not break the bank. I used it on my new Allen Edmonds shoes as well as some old beat up low-cost pair I had. The results were great especially noticeable in the beat-up pair. I think this is a basic product that everyone should have in their shoe care arsenal. It leaves no weird odor, does not alter the leather color in any way. I actually applied it with my fingers and didn't have any sort of residue or lingering smell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps your shoes like new This stuff is fantastic. Not hard to apply. I use it on every shoe it is recommended for. Keeps the leather supple and rich. For shoes I can polish, I apply before polishing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Miracle Product - A True "Must Have" This leather lotion is an absolute necessity for any kind of leather product that you want to take care of. I've used it several times on a pair of AE Carlyle's in Walnut & Black colors, and also on several pair of other leather boots that have been neglected for years. On the first application, it's amazing how well it hydrates and softens the leather. All without dis-coloring even the lighter "walnut" colored leather. Just one liberal application will noticeably soften the leather, and instantly boost the comfort of the shoes. Even on some tired, neglected boots I really noticed a difference immediately, and no doubt it help give new life to the old, well worn leather. Now, I use the leather lotion before the first wear on new shoes, and periodically to maintain the leather. As in once every 4-6 weeks or so for moderate use. (I'll do a light shine & buff once a week...) I typically place heavy dabs of the leather lotion all over the shoe, massage it in by hand, and use a cloth or horsehair brush to spread out any pooled areas. Maybe a couple coats if you'd like. You really can't apply too much, so long as you let the shoes dry before applying polish. Note - I would not use this as a "shine" product, as that's not it's intent. It's intended to simply maintain & moisturize the leather, keeping it from drying & cracking. I also don't believe this leather lotion would seal & protect from water either... After drying, I apply AE's "Premium Polish" for color touch-up, mild protection, and shine, finishing by buffing with the horsehair brush again. If you own any nice leather shoes & intend to keep them for a long time, this leather lotion IS A MUST...

Using AE Leather Lotion on Cordovan

Can and should the AE Leather Lotion be used on AE Cordovan shoes before you apply the Cordovan cream?
    Asked by: Bud
Cordovan Care Cream is the only recommended product for Shell Cordovan as it has been specifically formulated for this type of leather. Cordovan leather requires different care than calfskin due to its different properties. To remove any natural oils or residue in areas where the shoe flexes, and to maintain the leather's quality, simply brush the leather with a horsehair shine brush or wipe with a cotton flannel polishing cloth. Polish occasionally with Allen Edmonds Cordovan Care Cream to protect the leather and maintain its rich color. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

Should I use leather lotion on my Normandy Boots? Also, will it help with squeaking?

I've noticed a little squeaking when walking with my new boots? I know they are still in the break in process but I wanted to see if these would help. Brown Normandy Kudu leather. 2 weeks old.
    Asked by: Finn215
You can use Leather Lotion on Kudu leather. Squeaking sometimes occurs on new shoes because Allen Edmonds uses authentic leathers. When two pieces of new leather rub against each other, such as the leather lining, upper leather and/or tongue leathers, a slight squeaking may occur.  The fix is usually quite simple; general wear will eliminate the noise or you can apply leather lotion as a lubricant.   Importantly, if you have any further concerns or needs please contact our customer service team directly at or 1-877-817-7615.
