Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent value The dauber is not without cons but the value is unbeatable. Wish that the size is a little bit bigger.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pros and Cons This dauber has some Pros and Cons, such as when initially used I experienced some bristle losses but after a few usages, no problems (con). I think this would be considered a break in period and once pass this point the losses stopped. Con-2; if too much polish is in the bristles it causes streaks on a smooth surface making shining more effort than necessary. The up side of this or Pro is for $2 is does a great job reaching sole seams, hard to reach area such as the tongue area and oxford seams. I own numerous daubers and they seem to holdup pretty well and does a great job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GREAT DAUBER This dauber is an excellent applicator with great coverage abilities for sole stitching, seams and hard to reach areas. Use these daubers on all my shoes but must be mindful of the amount of polish in the brush before applying because it will streak; thus requiring unusual amount of brushing and buffing.

what is the difference between both daubers?

is there a reason one would need both kinds of daubers? or is one kind just good enough?
    Asked by: Danny
The dauber with the handle seems to work real well getting all the polish out a tin or a jar without causing too much stress on the bristles and getting on the body of the dauber. When using a pencil dauber I end up getting polish burred deep in the bristle making it hard getting all the polish on to the shoes without a lot of stress to the brush. So I conclude pencil for tube polish and handle dauber for tins and jars.

Dimensions of the Pencil Horsehair Dauber

I can't tell if this thing is tiny, with a circumference like a pencil, or if it would make a good primary dauber. What is, say, the diameter of the brush part? Thanks.
    Asked by: panspermia
Its about 7/8" in diameter, my other normal sized vers. of this dauber are 3/4". sounds small but it is noticible larger. Also bristles are are 7/8" long, with the normal one only 5/8"
