STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

*For camo printed leather, simply rub our Leather Lotion onto print with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp cloth.

    Classic Fit

Most people consider a “classic” fit to be a “standard” fit. This fit more closely aligns with the natural shape of your feet.

    Ask & Answer
Lombard Chelsea Dress Boot is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A solid choice that might be overlooked AE doesn't produce a lot of chelseas these days - the Haight, Knightsbridge and others are all gone. So when the Lombard released I definitely took notice. I'll break down what I liked and didn't like, with the obvious comparison of the other dressy chelsea in the current lineup, namely the Liverpool. I'll start with what I liked. The build quality on this one, like the large majority of AE's benchwelt styles, is very very good. People may nitpick some QC issues and minor defects but these were very minor here. I also liked the addition of the burgundy color (beyond just black & brown). The 65-last was an interesting choice - if you've always sort of speculated that the sloping cone of a chelsea would offset any issues you normally had with the 65-last in terms of an instep fit, you'd be correct. Coupled with very soft leather, the fit is very easy and very forgiving overall in a standard 65-size (about one half a length below brannock length). Finally, really like the use of danite for wet or otherwise bad weather. Not sure if people would agree, but I was pretty turned off by the online photos - the punchcap and shape just seemed "odd" to me but in person they all work very well. I was "wowed" by the burgundy - the color, the punchcap, everything would just work from dress casual to casual casual. What didn't I like. Not much of anything, but primarily exaggerated what I didn't like about the Liverpool in the first place. I have low volume feet that don't really need a full toebox or a fuller heelcup. If you've tried the Liverpool, the Lombard's toebox is maybe 50% fuller and the "waist" and heelcup are also quite a bit fuller. There are people who thought the Liverpool was kind of on the narrow-ish side and cramped in the toebox and they will probably love the Lombard, but for me personally I found the Liverpool to fit much more securely without all the excess and unnecessary volume. The Liverpool is also very limited in color choices (no burgundy) and the Liverpool used v-tread which is far lighter and feels MUCH less substantial than the danite used on the Lombard. For me, the fit issues alone were enough that I'd choose the Liverpool hands-down, but I bet the majority of people would choose the Lombard over the Liverpool for everything I just went through - the danite, the fuller fit, the color options. This is a rock solid choice. Hope they get some people to actually take notice of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding companion to Liverpool chelsea boot I purchased the Lombard as a companion to a Liverpool boot, and I'm very pleasantly impressed. The Lombard fits similar to the Liverpool, has a cushier insole, and features all-day and all-night comfort. Quality control is high (I did order with a custom Dainite insole). Looking forward to years of high-fashion comfort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome looks and comfort!! Just recently purchased the Lombard Chelsea in Walnut and have worn these great boots a few times, they fit like like a glove for my feet. Completely satisfied for now and would think they will only get better as time goes. This is my first pair of AE and will not be my last!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most versatile piece of stylish footwear I own The merlot color looks great and is incredibly versatile. Burgundy as a shoe color is just generally very versatile, there aren't many pant colors or styles it won't work with. These boots have a brown welt which I love because it's a bit less dressy than the black welt of an oxblood, makes it more versatile and modern looking. Chelsea boots are also one of the most versatile shoe styles you can own as well. They look like a boot when worn with denim and a t-shirt and can be an edgy dress shoe substitute when wearing a suit. They work with everything in between. The broguing helps them ride that fine line between looking too formal or too casual, as well as sets them apart from all the other Chelseas. The only situation these wouldn't work as well in is a very formal setting with a very elegant suit but you could get away with it in a pinch. The Dainite sole, slip-on design and a bit of foam beneath the leather insole makes this practical as well. If you are trying to balance minimalism, style and practicality then this boot should be on your short list.. There were some QC issues but AE got that sorted for me.
