  • Care

We believe a great pair of shoes or boots is always a solid long-term investment. To keep your favorite footwear in top form for years or even decades to comes, use our 4 Step Shoe Care Process and these essential products.

    1. Clean

Start by applying Saddle Soap with a Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth to remove stains and dirt from the uppers and bring up the leather's natural oils.

    2. Polish

Next, use a Horsehair Dauber to treat your footwear with Cream Polish which renews the color and luster of leather. Any time you want to achieve a truly glossy, high shine, you should instead apply Carnauba Wax Polish.

    3. Dress

Restore the color and surface of the leather on the heels and soles using Heel Dressing.

    4. Protect

Leather Lotion keeps uppers soft, supple and hydrated while a Horsehair Shine Brush is perfect for buffing your shoes to the desired shine. As a last step, spray on Water Protector to guard against harmful moisture and spills and use a Leather Dopp Kit to keep all your care products organized.

    Fit

    Relaxed Fit

The relaxed fit has added space in the toe box. This extra room allows for thicker socks and foot expansion that occurs at the end of the day or during a long flight.

Boulder Venetian Driving Moccasin is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 536.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these, but wish there was a fix for... These are and have been my everyday go to shoe. They go with everything, clean looking and comfortable. I get compliments frequently. I like them so much I have had 5-6 pair of them. However, the toe glue has always started to separate to the left of the rubber point on my left foot. I polish, treat them carefully but this has been a consistent issue. I have taken them to cobblers, the store I bought from and they can cannot give me an answer. Again I love this style, but am hoping for a fix.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoes with one suggestion. I've been wearing A E shoes for many years and have loved every pair I've owned. I would love, however, to see them made with replaceable foot beds, so I can put my own orthotics in them. Especially this driving shoe model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Boulder Venetian Driving Moccasin is a real winner for me with my narrow foot. Allen Edmonds is the only brand I buy. My size is actually 11A, but the Driving Moccasin size 11B is a wonderful fit. I have two 11A's and both are Maxfield's. One is Chili and the other is Merlot--both are fine fits for dressy casual slacks. In years gone by I bought cap toe oxfords, one brown, one black, and one wingtip. They always served me well.

Would this shoe be most similar to your discontinued El Paso driving moccasins?

I loved your El Paso driving moccasins, but they are no longer available. Would these shoes be the most similar to them? Thank you for your help.

Does the Boulder Venetian Driving Moccasin fit like the Boulevard Cap?

I have the Boulevard caps in a 9.5 E, and wear a 10.5 D in just about every other shoe so wanted to see if the Boulder Venetian Driving Moccasins fit exactly the same as the Boulevard caps?
    Asked by: phantomphloyd
My husband normally wears a 9 EEE and couldn't get them on because they were so narrow.

Do you need to go up in size if you have an orthotic insert?

    Asked by: T
Probably would need to go up in size. If you enjoy the luxury of a local Allen Edmunds store, you should definitely go in for a fitting of the Boulder Venetian. I own 5 pairs of varying vintage. The latest ones seem to come somewhat narrower than before. I used to wear a 12-D. My latest purchase is a 12-EEE. Length seems to be true to size. Also note that the leather insole in the Boulder is not easily removed. It is glued in. So practically, any orthotic must fit in over the insole; which is pretty thin. If you can, go in for a fitting. If not, you may have to try ordering different sizes. And send some back. AE is good about returns.

Does the Boulder Venetian Driving Moccasin fit like the East Port boat shoe? I have pretty narrow feet.

    Asked by: MDM
My husband found these to be extremely narrow (he has wide feet) so if you have narrow feet this will be great for you.

What is a good belt match (color and style) to the brown with brown trim shoe?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Brown would be my guess - AE has belt colors that match their shoe colors in many cases.

Can I get the Boulder Venetians resoled?

    Asked by: Icetea32
Boulder Venetian Driving Moccasin's are not resolable. At the price they are sold and how long they last, comfort to the feet is worth every penny. It is not an economic concern for long haul if my feet benefit. Your health is more important!

Would these be comfortable enough for 10 hours on your feet ?

    Asked by: FredD
Not for me, I had to remove them after about a half days use.

does it have a tall toe box. I have hammer toes and need the extra space. Thanks

    Asked by: Silver58
The Boulder Venetian Driving Moccasin will probably not serve anyone well with a hammer toe or bulbous bunions for that matter. The Boulder Venetian Driving Moccasin does come in wide width but the shoe narrows at the front and leather is relatively flat along the toes. If you don't want to have surgery to fix your hammertoe, using non-medicated padding along with shoes made with a wider and deeper toe box to accommodate your foot's shape. Some have had success using a pumice stone to shave mild hammer toe. If that is you, then try on a pair of Boulder Venetian Driving Moccasin's later on.

    Is this shoe's insole removable?

I would like to wear this shoe two days in a row. Is there a removable footbed to allow it to dry out overnight and remain fresh for the next day?
    Asked by: Kris
Insoles are glued in. So, not easily removed. Try the Cedar Shoe Trees. They should help dry the shoes out overnight.

How should I treat this shoe before I begin wearing it (i.e., waterproofing, etc.)?

    Asked by: Kris
I have owned the tan color for about a year with no additional treatment on the leather. They look as good as they did when I took them out of the box and I wear them at least 4 days per week. I just ordered another pair in navy. You can't go wrong with this shoe.
