  • Care

We believe a great pair of shoes or boots is always a solid long-term investment. To keep your favorite footwear in top form for years or even decades to comes, use our 4 Step Shoe Care Process and these essential products.

    1. Clean

Start by applying Saddle Soap with a Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth to remove stains and dirt from the uppers and bring up the leather's natural oils.

    2. Polish

Next, use a Horsehair Dauber to treat your footwear with Cream Polish which renews the color and luster of leather. Any time you want to achieve a truly glossy, high shine, you should instead apply Carnauba Wax Polish.

    3. Dress

Restore the color and surface of the leather on the heels and soles using Heel Dressing.

    4. Protect

Leather Lotion keeps uppers soft, supple and hydrated while a Horsehair Shine Brush is perfect for buffing your shoes to the desired shine. As a last step, spray on Water Protector to guard against harmful moisture and spills and use a Leather Dopp Kit to keep all your care products organized.

Leeds Dress Plain-toe Blucher Shoe is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 172.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe The Leeds in cigar are a great looking shoe with solid construction. Occasionally I see that some folks complain about defects in a pair of AE shoes. AE has great customer service and makes exchanges very easy. Personally I think it is worth exchanging a pair if there are real eye catching issues or something is wrong with the fit. I think I had to exchange this pair 2x for different reasons. My first order had a giant crease across the toe box. The second time the fit of the shoe felt off. The 3rd time I received a great looking shoe that fits amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If I had to go with only 1 dress shoe it would be the derby. I was issued a black leather derby shoe in 1977 at Army Boot camp. Not sure who made them back then, but they were very similar to this, quality leather and leather soles. I had them resoled once. Wore them many many times they would shine up to a mirror shine with some kiwi and water. My foot grew from size 11 to size 13 over the years so I wanted to find a quality shoe all leather with leather sole. They are hard to find without going into the $700 to $1000 range. I don't wear often enough to justify that kind of price tag. I found an Alan Edmonds derby at a local thrift shop in my size 13 for $90. The sole was in bad shape so a local cobbler was able put a new JR leather sole on and new heels for $160. Some saddle soap and leather balm and some black polish and they are good as new. The quality of Alan Edmonds shoes is undeniable. Even with neglect they last for years and years.

    size 8.5e vs 9d

hello the size recommendation told me 8.5e would be true to my size. I have a rather wide feet, but would 9d fit my feet as well? I prefer the shoe to have a slimmer last but if 9d doesnt fit like 8.5e, i guess i should buy 8.5e. thx
    Asked by: Anonymous
We would recommend that you start with the 8.5e and if it does not fit then try a 9.

How often do you carry cigar polish and cream?

I'm interested in buying a pair of your cigar Blucher shoes.
    Asked by: Thomas
Thank you for reaching out to Allen Edmonds! We're sorry to say that we do not have a polish specific to the cigar leathers. For these items, we would recommend using neutral polish.

Can I custom order a 7B? If it doesn't fit, is it returnable?

    Asked by: Scott
You'll be pleased to know that you can purchase the Leeds in 7B. However, they are currently backordered 3 weeks. If you purchase a backordered item, the item is returnable. However, if you purchase an item with a custom sole, the shoes are not returnable.

Why have the Walnut and Oxblood colors been removed?

Hello, I’d like to know why the oxblood and walnut colors for The Leeds have been removed. Will they be available again at some point for purchase? Or could they be ordered custom-made (as can the Park Avenues)? Thanks!
    Asked by: Bk600
Unfortunately, walnut and oxblood has been discontinued in this style. There are many factors considered when discontinuing styles such as customer feedback, sales performance, or fashion trends. These are decisions made internally by our design and leadership teams and we're sorry we unable to share specific reasons for the discontinuation of each style. We apologize for any disappointment.
