    Care Instructions

Cordovan leather requires different care than calfskin due to its unique properties. Brush and wipe regularly and apply cream occasionally to protect the leather and maintain its rich color.

    Regular Maintenance:

Regularly, brush the leather with our Horsehair Shine Brush or wipe with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth.

To Protect and Restore Color, Follow These Steps:

STEP 1: Wipe your shoe down with a damp cloth and allow to dry.

STEP 2: Using your Horsehair Dauber, apply a small amount of Cordovan cream in a circular motion.

STEP 3: While the cream is still slightly wet, take our Horsehair Shine Brush and brush back and forth, heating the cream and leather. This allows the natural oils to move to the surface to bring out the leather's natural shine.

STEP 4: Next, use the soft side of our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth to buff the shoe until the surface is no longer tacky. Often, some excess cream will transfer onto the cloth, which is normal.

STEP 5: Take our Heel Dressing applicator and press against the edge of the heel and sole.

MacNeil Shell Cordovan Wingtip Dress Shoe is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 343.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks okay at 5ft but disappointed in the quality So I picked these up during the sale recently and got them for basically half off that's either a pro or con depending how you look at it. Disappointed in the overall quality given the prices of these things. The cork sole had protrusions that were poking my feet that needed to be sanded down to be worn. The tip where the design was has little visible cracks between all the holes (normal?) The ankle portion of the shoe still has unfinished leather bits visible from the top and side protruding at the seem. Even the tongue was poorly cut on the inside where it meets the body of the shoe. I didn't bother moaning after i got them because I was excited to own a pair and work too much to care. I'm sure they will get worn in in due course. They look good at 5 ft and that's all that matters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shoe laces are too short Shoe laces are too short, talked to customer service but no resolution. I had both two pair.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great style- below average quality for the price The longwing is a timeless favorite design to me. However, this shoe had uppet leather that looked ironed as opposed to stretched. That caused the leather to puff up and wrinkle when moisturizing. Second issue was 5 eyelets instead of 6. Third, the stitching is not consistently centered around the brogues. This is a problem Allen Edmonds has on most of their balmoral shoes. Lastly, one if the pieces of leather had a fly bite in it. Not a big deal. But premium shoe leather never has this.

Why is there only black? Will you even make this shoe in a cordovan/burgandy color again?

    Asked by: Donald
As the shoe is no longer in active production what remains in color and sizing are all that is left from the factory.
