Do you make a belt that matches the bourbon color?

How do you make bourbon these days?

A year and two months ago, you confirmed in an answer to my question on this shoe that bourbon was made by burnishing a walnut shoe on a black wheel. But I spoke to a sales associate this week who said that bourbon has a different base color, and your answer to another question on this shoe suggests the same thing. Can you please confirm? Is bourbon now using a different dye? If so, will you roll it back out for other shoes such as the Strand?
    Asked by: srlclark
In the past we used the same leather for the Walnut and Bourbon styles and the difference between them was the finishing/burnishing. We currently use a different leather for the Bourbon styles. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

What is the best polish to use for these?

Can you provide a link to AE polish for these? Which color should be used? This is for the 6203 Bourbon.
    Asked by: Tom
The Hanger project recommends Safir medium brown wax polish (I don't know about cream polish, I must've gotten the last tube of AE cream in bourbon).

I love the McAllister wingtip style, especially in Walnut. Is there an equivalent shoe made with a 201 last or at least fits near enough like a 201?

    Asked by: Bill
We recommend the Bartlett cap-toe. It's made on the 201 last and available in walnut. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

Bourbon Mcallisters with Walnut Manistee Belt?

Unfortunately, the Manistee belt in bourbon is sold out in my size but I own the Manistee in walnut. Would the walnut Manistee be a close enough match for these shoes in bourbon?
    Asked by: Josh15
No, I have the manistee in walnut and it's much too light. I went with brown. It's on sale and is "close enough".

Is the heel all black, or does it have some brown in it?

    Asked by: Drew
The bourbon styles have a black sole and heel edge. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

Is bourbon back permanently or just for a limited run?

Let me add: I'm so happy that you've brought back the color, as I love my bourbon Dalton's and am definitely planning on getting a shoe in bourbon, too. But at my income point, I have to save up, so I'm hoping bourbon will be around for a while. Also, a second question, please: are you still making the color by darkening walnut leather on the black burnishing wheel, or did you find a dye that will produce this color without the need for burnishing (and the danger of inconsistent application of the burnishing)?
    Asked by: srlclark
Thank you for your comments. The permanency of the Bourbon styles will highly depend on customer feedback. We still use the walnut leather as a base and the burnishing is what gives the shoes their rich color. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
