Strandmok Cap-Toe Oxford with Dainite Rubber Sole is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 163.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not your typical shoe One of the first things people notice about a man’s dress is his shoes. I’ve had three total strangers stop me in public, in Wash, DC, to compliment these shoes. Not to also mention my co-worker’s noticing too. That’s a first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible shoes I got these in cognac color, when they were on sale online for 1/2 off. I felt like I won the lottery when I opened the box. Feel solid and quality on the foot. The look is second to none, even with jeans. I swear to God, people actually stare at my feet. If this is the reaction you want, buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these I bought these after reading a review by Bespoke Unit online. I've been moving away from sneakers and trying to dress up my casual look. The shoes are even more beautiful in person than they look online. I was hoping to get some burgundy strings as well, but the tan/gold strings look great too. I've heard that AEs are heavy and was worried about comfort. It took about four wears to break them in, but the footbed is forming around the shape of my foot and they are quite comfortable. When I have to stand for long periods of time, these are by far my most comfortable shoes. The danite soles are amazing; they add to the comfort and give me more confidence when walking through gravel parking lots. I have found the shoes to be comfortable and durable. I'm thrilled to have a shoe so well made right here in the USA. I'll definitely be adding more AE shoes into my rotation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from on my third pair currently pretty much wear these shoes every single day. I have a complaint here and there about issues with my first two pairs but cannot complain about comfort one bit. Only that like many other AE shoes, the quality and attention to detail seems to have diminished over the years while the price has gone UP UP UP. Regardless, I've been getting weekly compliments on these shoes for 5 years now. I'm kinda done with AE with the exception of these shoes. It's not the same company it was in the 90s and 2000s. When I look at my old Park Avenues, 5th Aves and Strands, there is not a single stitch thread out of place and the leather is PERFECT. that's got little to do with this particular model, which is more casual and survives on style. but it reflects my overall opinion of AE. for this shoe...thumbs up. I can now buy a different pair of shoes made on the same last, and the shape and form are entirely different. i've even needed different SIZES on the same last. that's not acceptable. and one LARGE thumbs down bc my most recent pair didn't come with burgandy strings. and the strings make the shoe in this case. uhhh...just order some dude! Well yeah, but the originals are 32" (IIRC) and AE doesn't sell a 32" string. So their replacement burgandy strings are too short. you can still tie them but the bows are like 2 inches tip to tip. looks weird. also the replacement strings aren't the soft cotton like the beige strings that come with these. they are 'dress shoe' strings. Waxed, stiff etc. anyway, feeling nostalgic for old skule AE. but I still love my strandmoks. in general, I don't think ANY AE shoe is worth $400 plus except maybe shell cords. but i'd shop VERY carefully on those. so for value, I would ONLY ever buy with a big sale. $250 is about as much as I will pay for AE now. These are just the ravings of a grumpy old republican though. buy the strandmoks. you'll be happy you did.

Can you please tell me which one of your belts go with this shoe?
    Asked by: Anonymous
We suggest the Yukon belt in Brown. The Strandmok has a unique finish that is intended to wear overtime and show the golden tones underneath, and we do not currently offer a belt with that exact finish, but it will coordinate well with this belt style. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions!

What product is recommended to keep the leather hydrated and nourished?

Due to the nature of the finish I do not want to apply something that will ruin the natural patina this shoe was designed to have. I also don't want the leather to dry because traditional products/methods don't work for this leather.
    Asked by: Anonymous
I would say Bick's #4 leather conditioner. It does not change the color of the shoe. I use it as the first layer of protection for all of my leather shoes. It will re-hydrate the leather quite well.

I had previously asked regarding this model, 4027 brown with red sole, what AE belt and color would work well. You recommended the Yukon in brown.

The Yukon is not available in my size. Does the Quay Ave Casual Belt, 75807 Brown Soft Grain Leather, work also?
    Asked by: Gary
The Quay belt will not be a match in color, but because it has contrasting stitching like the shoes, it may complement them nicely. Please feel free to try it to see if you like the pairing. Keep in mind we offer an easy returns policy in case it doesn't work out for you. Thank you for contacting us!

Sizing for this shoe for long narrow feet

I have a size 13.5 AAA flat foot. When available I typically go with size 14 AAA dress shoes to get the necessary length since there is not a 13.5 option, I'm reading that this shoe runs long and narrow. Any advice as to what size I should be ordering for this model?

Is there a brown polish that will stick to this leather?

I have tried AE Premium Shoe Polish, Kiwi shoe cream, Kiwi shoe polish and I can't find anything that will stick to this shoe or cover scuff marks. Is there any way to reapply the dark brown color to these shoes?
    Asked by: Chris_B
I agree with AE's answer. Use a brown colored cream polish, I like Saphir brand, and then buff well. I wouldn't use Kiwi as they are not made from natural products. Apply a neutral polish only to the toe area and maybe the heel area. There's no need to "shine" the whole shoe repeatedly. Again Saphir is a great brand. If you have Kiwi or any other low end polish on there you may want to use saddle soap to clean the shoes first. Then apply a leather conditioner. Then your cream polish, and finally your clear polish. It's some effort but the results are worth it and I find it therapeutic.
