Higgins Mill Boot with Chromexcel Leather is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 138.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor fit and quality It pains me to do this. I own several pairs of Allen Edmonds, and prefer their shoes and boots above all others. But this boot just does not fit well. The leather feels flimsy, which is made worse by the “relaxed” fit. I emailed their team about my concerns, and their solution was to ignore the issue and instead send me a 20% off coupon to buy more. Makes no sense. Allen Edmonds is a better company than this, and it’s customers deserve better. Please note - these boots were fitted at and purchased directly from Allen Edmonds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from exceptional everyday boot I had a number of AE boots before purchasing these so i felt like i had a good idea of what to expect. these exceeded those expectations. i've had the Higgins Mill for over two years now and they are a regular part of the rotation. I rarely dress in more formal business attire so there really isn't any day or occasion that I can't wear them. I'll wear them to work, to hike, to explore the city (or country), or on a date night. After a lot of wear the soles show no signs of fatigue, the leather has a great patina, and i expect to get decades of use (with the occasional resole) from these boots.

    Pre-Creased shoes

Hello, I purchased a pair of Higgins from an in store retailer. The shoes appear to already have creasing in the Vamp area. The toe area does not look as flat and smooth as it does in the picture on your website. There are a bunch of lines and it looks like the branch of a tree. Is this a normal occurrence in this type of leather, and something that happens with usage? I have never purchased AE shoes so I want to be sure they are not defective with loose grain or inferior quality.

Which speed polish color should I buy?

I know the boot description says brown but when I received these they appear to have reddish tint to them. Should I buy "Chili" instead of brown?
    Asked by: astromoose
I wouldn't use shoe polish on chromexcel leather. I would just clean them and use some shoe cream to condition the leather. I use saphir greasy leather cream because that's what I happened to have, but I'm sure Allen Edmonds sells a similar product that is equivalent

What is the recommended sizing compared to sneakers? Are they true to size or should I order 1/2-full size down?

    Asked by: Chris
The boots run true to size, as do the sneakers. Not sure if i will do business with this company anymore, do to a problem with replacing a pair of deffective shoelaces. Too petty for me.

    What kind of insole? Poron?

    Asked by: Carlos
Its a leather insole. And leather lined. It is extremely comfortable and soft. Feels luxurious for a boot. Get them while they are on sale. The only thing you need to take care of em is a big brush and AE leather lotion. DO NOT USE A WAX BASED POLISH. Saphir greasy leather cream in neutral works fine too.
