  • Care

We believe a great pair of shoes or boots is always a solid long-term investment. To keep your favorite footwear in top form for years or even decades to comes, use our 4 Step Shoe Care Process and these essential products.

    1. Clean

Start by applying Saddle Soap with a Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth to remove stains and dirt from the uppers and bring up the leather's natural oils.

    2. Polish

Next, use a Horsehair Dauber to treat your footwear with Cream Polish which renews the color and luster of leather. Any time you want to achieve a truly glossy, high shine, you should instead apply Carnauba Wax Polish.

    3. Dress

Restore the color and surface of the leather on the heels and soles using Heel Dressing.

    4. Protect

Leather Lotion keeps uppers soft, supple and hydrated while a Horsehair Shine Brush is perfect for buffing your shoes to the desired shine. As a last step, spray on Water Protector to guard against harmful moisture and spills and use a Leather Dopp Kit to keep all your care products organized.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely stunning! I purchased the merlot Lombards in December and I still can’t believe how stunning these chelsea boots are. They look amazing with light pants and the broguing is insane. These are hands down my favorite pair of boots and I don’t see anything else being able to measure up. Definitely a new standard in my book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Chelsea----same traditional quality As do all my other Allen Edmonds, this Chelsea fits well (12 B); and with a long shoe horn, slides on effortlessly. It seems not to be a full dress Chelsea because it lacks a leather sole; but when I need a dress shoe, I have others that perform that function. Sono molto soddisfatto.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Workmenship and fix very good Due to my wide foot, high quality shoes and boots very hard to find. That is not the case with Allen Edmonds. I have recommended them to my friends and will continue to do so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A solid choice that might be overlooked AE doesn't produce a lot of chelseas these days - the Haight, Knightsbridge and others are all gone. So when the Lombard released I definitely took notice. I'll break down what I liked and didn't like, with the obvious comparison of the other dressy chelsea in the current lineup, namely the Liverpool. I'll start with what I liked. The build quality on this one, like the large majority of AE's benchwelt styles, is very very good. People may nitpick some QC issues and minor defects but these were very minor here. I also liked the addition of the burgundy color (beyond just black & brown). The 65-last was an interesting choice - if you've always sort of speculated that the sloping cone of a chelsea would offset any issues you normally had with the 65-last in terms of an instep fit, you'd be correct. Coupled with very soft leather, the fit is very easy and very forgiving overall in a standard 65-size (about one half a length below brannock length). Finally, really like the use of danite for wet or otherwise bad weather. Not sure if people would agree, but I was pretty turned off by the online photos - the punchcap and shape just seemed "odd" to me but in person they all work very well. I was "wowed" by the burgundy - the color, the punchcap, everything would just work from dress casual to casual casual. What didn't I like. Not much of anything, but primarily exaggerated what I didn't like about the Liverpool in the first place. I have low volume feet that don't really need a full toebox or a fuller heelcup. If you've tried the Liverpool, the Lombard's toebox is maybe 50% fuller and the "waist" and heelcup are also quite a bit fuller. There are people who thought the Liverpool was kind of on the narrow-ish side and cramped in the toebox and they will probably love the Lombard, but for me personally I found the Liverpool to fit much more securely without all the excess and unnecessary volume. The Liverpool is also very limited in color choices (no burgundy) and the Liverpool used v-tread which is far lighter and feels MUCH less substantial than the danite used on the Lombard. For me, the fit issues alone were enough that I'd choose the Liverpool hands-down, but I bet the majority of people would choose the Lombard over the Liverpool for everything I just went through - the danite, the fuller fit, the color options. This is a rock solid choice. Hope they get some people to actually take notice of it.
