    Care Instructions

Cordovan leather requires different care than calfskin due to its unique properties. Brush and wipe regularly and apply cream occasionally to protect the leather and maintain its rich color.

    Regular Maintenance:

Regularly, brush the leather with our Horsehair Shine Brush or wipe with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth.

To Protect and Restore Color, Follow These Steps:

STEP 1: Wipe your shoe down with a damp cloth and allow to dry.

STEP 2: Using your Horsehair Dauber, apply a small amount of Cordovan cream in a circular motion.

STEP 3: While the cream is still slightly wet, take our Horsehair Shine Brush and brush back and forth, heating the cream and leather. This allows the natural oils to move to the surface to bring out the leather's natural shine.

STEP 4: Next, use the soft side of our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth to buff the shoe until the surface is no longer tacky. Often, some excess cream will transfer onto the cloth, which is normal.

STEP 5: Take our Heel Dressing applicator and press against the edge of the heel and sole.

    Classic Fit

Most people consider a “classic” fit to be a “standard” fit. This fit more closely aligns with the natural shape of your feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exquisite product and excellent service! Bought these for Christmas for my 6’8” son. I was worried that the size 15 wouldn’t arrive in time. The company went the extra mile to make sure they got this us by 12/24, and he was overjoyed! He just started his first job after graduating from college. Thanks for helping me win the mom of the year award. My son looks sharp!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissatisfied - quality & refund process I am long term customer and have over 20 pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes. First pair I bought in a few years and online. The shoe was poorly crafted and had to return it. I am now waiting 3 weeks for my refund.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor leather or finishing Purchased an oxblood dalton boots on 12/20/19, recieved it on 12/26/19. First of, the leather in each pair appeared to be somewhat different from each other. I ignored it because am not a huge stickler for minor imperfections. I wore the boots only twice, and I noticed these drying, flaking and what appears to be the coating on the leather peeling off on certain areas of the shoes. I called customer service about this and her answer was for me to send the shoes back to them so they can examine it and decide on what to do. She also stated the turnaround will be 4 weeks. I live in Houston Texas and our winter is very short. I purchased a boot to wear during this time and now am about to wait for 4 weeks for a defect that wasn't my doing? This is really unacceptable! Now am here stuck contemplating on what to do, am really sad and disappointed.

How do these boots fit for someone with a high arch on the top of their feet?

    Asked by: Matthew
I think this would work for someone with a high arch. I do not have one and found that it did not fit well for that reason. Too much room in the arch area.

What is cordovan leather and why is it more expensive?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Hello, Thank you for your inquiry! Cordovan is an equine leather made from the fibrous flat connective tissue beneath the hide on the rump of the horse. This particular leather is expensive because it is hard to come by and make. -AE Consumer Care Dept.

    Matching belt

What color of your "current" cordovan belts matches this boot?
    Asked by: Keenan
Hello, We currently only have two Cordovan belts. The Cordovan Aver belt and the Cordovan tab belt. The Cordovan Ave belt is offered in Oxblood which is closest color that we offer to burgundy. Unfortunately, the Cordovan Tab belt is only offered in black. -AE Consumer Care Dept.
