STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

Hamilton Cap-Toe Oxford Dress Boot is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Continued satisfaction This is my second pair of Hamiltons and most likely not the last, it is a great boot and very, VERY versatile. My first pair were the Tumbled Cognac, and the Black version just stuck out in my head as a great combination with dark colored clothing. The Blue Dainite is an eye catcher and gives just the right pop when wearing them. They are comfortable right out of the box, and ready to go. I am very pleased with this boot and at the sale price, an excellent value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding I went with the Cognac, and the red Dainite soles really make them pop. These are a substantial chunk of leather, and I feel that I'm wearing a piece of art on my feet. I'm a 13D in most AE--and a 13D per the Brannock device as well--though I size up to an E width on other 65-lasted shoes like the Strand and the McAllister. As a 13E was sold out, I went with a 13D here and I'm glad I did: with regular dress socks the fit is very roomy. In fact, I almost wonder if this pair was mis-marked, because I have to wear heavy hiking socks so my feet aren't spelunking around (again, I wear a 13E in the Strand which is built on the same 65 last....weird). The heavy socks aren't optimal as I'm living on an island in the Gulf of Mexico, but I love the style so much that I can more than live with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would buy again! I'm always hesitant to buy shoes at this price range without trying them on in person. But I decided to take a chance, since they were on sale. And I have to say, they fit absolutely perfect. I'm a 10E, and I order exactly that. I was surprise how accurate the fit was. The quality and craftsmanship is very evident. I wish i could give my regards to the artisan who masterfully crafted these. That's how happy I am with the work. Had I seen these in person, I would not hesitate to buy at full price. I bought the black pebble leather with blue Dainite soles. I believe this will work with both business as well as business casual.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best of Both Worlds I picked these up on sale and at the price this is an outstanding value. I got the Cognac, a light amber hue, with more red hues than AE walnut - with a slight burnishing on the toe. The leather is surprisingly thick (which I love), thicker than my First Avenue boots - these would work as motorcycle boots, they are that heavy duty - but who would want to scratch and oil them all to H E double hockey sticks? Honestly I am tempted to and I probably will at some point. But, substantial, these feel tough as nails and I feel like a paratrooper in them. Trust me on this, they are almost as heavy duty as my Iron Rangers. Yet the toe cap brogueing and detailing make this an appropriate boot for the office (unlike my IR) with chinos or dark denim or wool slacks. The leather lining is soft and feels luxurious. They will require *some* break in, but they aren’t bad, and to me that is the hallmark of and price you pay for a good durable boot. The Dainite soles provide great traction and will undoubtedly endure. The welt is chunky as you can see from the photos. This adds to the casual look of this shoe (as does the grained leather) - the welt is clearly American, masculine. Note that the pebbled/grained leather finish is not equal on all panels - at this price I”m not going to ding them for it. This may bother some - it doesn’t bother me at all, but just know that it will happen. I find the fit to be just a little tight at the top of my arch, but the leather will stretch some - I am just a tad wider than D but usually go with D widths, depending on the last. Not as narrow as my Carlyles thank the gods. I love this boot. It does everything I want a boot to do. It almost seems schizophrenic, being so heavy duty, but with broguing, pinking, and fine detail. But for me that ticks all the boxes - I can wear them to the office, but my feet feel protected and firmly planted and you could go John Wick in them if you needed to LOL, and who is to say that you won’t? My new favorite boot.

How come there aren't any clean, non-brogued oxford boots?

They would be so much more versatile, ankle height, closed-laced, plain captoes with no brogues, no wingtips. As equally formal (mirror-polished) as they are smart casual (gloss cream, non-mirror polish). Basically short boot version of plain, traditional oxfords with storm welt.

Plain cap-toe boots have been offered in the past, but are usually discontinued due to low sales performance. However, please know we value your feedback and it will be shared with the appropriate team for future consideration. In the meantime, we suggest taking a look at the Landon style as it features many of the characteristics you may be looking for. Other simple styles are the Liverpool, Williamsburg, Alpine, Nomad, and Tate styles. Thank you for contacting us!

Hamilton dress boot color black. Does the boot have more of a traditional color sole? I'm not partial to the blue mix in with the sole.

I wear 6 D in the Strand and McAllister models. Should I order the same size for the dress boots?

    Asked by: Stuart G
Allen Edmonds shoes are true-to-size as they are designed following the sizing standards of the Brannock Device. The length from the heel to the ball of the foot is the same for all of our styles in the same size.
