    Care Instructions

STEP 1: Using a damp cloth or sponge, lather our Saddle Soap and apply onto leather to clean and restore its natural oils.

STEP 2: Moisturize the shoes with our Cream Polish to make them supple and soft, following instructions on the product.

STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

*For camo printed leather, simply rub our Leather Lotion onto print with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp cloth.

    Relaxed Fit

The relaxed fit has added space in the toe box. This extra room allows for thicker socks and foot expansion that occurs at the end of the day or during a long flight.

    Ask & Answer
Alpine Cap-Toe Boot with Vibram Arctic Grip Rubber Sole is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sole Detached Like many other reviewers, within a couple weeks of regular wear the soles started coming apart. I was excited to invest in a pair of quality American made boots but this ended up being really disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cool Style, Atrocious Craftsmanship I seriously cannot believe that Allen Edmonds is allowing this boots to be sold under their name. As I understand it, the crafting of these shoes is not done in the USA, which is fine with me, except the craftsmanship is absolutely horrible. I ordered at least 3 different pairs of these boots trying to find some that were of reasonable quality, but was extremely disappointed every time. I don't consider myself a shoe snob, but when stitching is clearly off center, the shoe wobbles when placed on a flat surface, there are very noticeable silver pen marks where the craftsman drew guidelines, the laces come frayed, the leather inner and outer don't line up... it's really absurd. I want to own a pair of these boots and love them and wear them and live in them constantly, but there is no way I would be happy with any of the seriously poorly made products I was sent. I'm used to the difficult part of shoe shopping being finding a style and fit that work for me, not actually obtaining a version of the product that isn't noticeably poorly made. If Allen Edmonds ever makes a cap toe boot of decent quality, I will be the first in line to purchase. I am seriously frustrated that these aren't them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sole came apart in a matter of days on two pairs The leather and quality above the sole is great but I had two pairs of these that started to fall apart after a few days of wear; I exchanged them for a new pair thinking it was a one-off issue and the same thing happened to the other pair. For whatever reason this sole doesnt want to stay on this shoe - I wish this came with a dainite sole.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from extremely disappointed I had high expectations for my first purchase of Allen shoes ever. Picked this pair hoping to get excellent quality shoes that would survive the cold Maine winters while looking nice enough to wear to work. Unfortunately had to return them after a week of regular use because the soles had started to detach on the back. I was very disappointed to see a pair of expensive boot supposed to "last many years" not even resist normal wear and tear. The other disappointment is the customer service. I send the boots back for "review" since they apparently dont accept refunds, waited a month just to hear back from them saying they indeed "issued a refund". A whole month in the dark just to be notified I was going to be refunded without any other explanations. Terrible experience, first I am discouraged to ever buy again because I could be unlucky enough to get another bad quality shoes and second, a dismissive customer service. Maybe I was unlucky, definitely will think several times before ever shopping from Allen.

    Size EEE

I'm wondering why only widths D and EEE? More specifically, for my case, if a person normally wears an E with a cotton sock, is a EEE needed for a thick wool winter sock to match that winter sole? If each width increment is 3/16" in total girth, it seems jumping from E to EEE in anticipation of wearing a thick sock would be a mistake. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
    Asked by: SF
We would be happy to forward your feedback on our sizing options to the appropriate parties. We would recommend going with the size you normally wearing and judging the fit from there. If this is not an option, you should visit your nearest store to try a pair.

Wondering if the outsole is soft/squishy/lightweight like that used on the Ace, Tupelo and Long Branch or is it more like the older mini-lug (closer to the It's Hide or what is used on the Surreys & Rainier, harder and more rigid). Thanks!
    Asked by: Anonymous
Hello, Thank you for your inquiry! The outsole on the Alpine Cap-Toe boot does not have a lightweight sole. However, the sole provides All-season comfort and stability. -AE Consumer Care Dept.
