STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

*For camo printed leather, simply rub our Leather Lotion onto print with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp cloth.

Higgins Mill Boot with Chromexcel Leather is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 160.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from One major flaw This would be a great boot except for the tongue construction. I saw other reviewers make the same complaint and I ignored it - now I have to find a cobbler to tack the tongue in place. I can’t wear the boots for 10 minutes without the tongue sliding off to the side exposing the ankle to some harsh rubbing. Customers shouldn’t have to go to a cobbler day 1 on a boot this expensive, but you can’t wear them otherwise. It’s a shame because the boot is 5 star awesome without this fault.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Style These boots are very comfortable . I had no complaints with the quality. I am considering purchasing another pair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really like the boot--agree with others on suede tongue issues I am a long-time, very loyal AE customer. I have owned more pairs than I can count, so naturally when looking at similar boot offerings from Wolverine, Red Wing, and Thursday, I went with the AE. The chromexcel is suburb. Upon arrival, I gave the boot a brisk brush, added conditioner, brushed again, and went out to dinner. The leather is like nothing I have ever seen before, in a positive way. Just a quick brush brings back the light shine and removes scuffs that would be more difficult to remove on a traditional dress shoe. The size/comfort is perfect and ran true-to-size with my other AE's. I scored the boot a 4 because of the issues seen in other feedback given. It makes no sense that the tongue does not stay in place. I like the suede very much, and would buy again, but if you are the type of person who would go nuts with a less-than-stationary tongue, you will want to pass. No issues with quality on this pair. No regrets on purchase. Would buy again. Thanks AE!

TYPE LEATHER AND CARE OF TONGUE? SUEDE, NUBUCK, ROUGH OUT LEATHER?

TONGUE LEATHER IS ROUGH AND NOT FINISHED LIKE THE REST OF SHOE. WHAT IS THE TYPE OF TONGUE LEATHER? HOW DO I CLEAN? CONDITION? AND WATERPROOF?
    Asked by: TOTORO
It's a non-gusseted tongue made of suede leather. Why suede? Nobody knows. With a non-gusseted suede tongue, I doubt these boots are anything-proof.

    Pre-Creased shoes

Hello, I purchased a pair of Higgins from an in store retailer. The shoes appear to already have creasing in the Vamp area. The toe area does not look as flat and smooth as it does in the picture on your website. There are a bunch of lines and it looks like the branch of a tree. Is this a normal occurrence in this type of leather, and something that happens with usage? I have never purchased AE shoes so I want to be sure they are not defective with loose grain or inferior quality.

Which speed polish color should I buy?

I know the boot description says brown but when I received these they appear to have reddish tint to them. Should I buy "Chili" instead of brown?
    Asked by: astromoose
I wouldn't use shoe polish on chromexcel leather. I would just clean them and use some shoe cream to condition the leather. I use saphir greasy leather cream because that's what I happened to have, but I'm sure Allen Edmonds sells a similar product that is equivalent

What is the recommended sizing compared to sneakers? Are they true to size or should I order 1/2-full size down?

    Asked by: Chris
The boots run true to size, as do the sneakers. Not sure if i will do business with this company anymore, do to a problem with replacing a pair of deffective shoelaces. Too petty for me.
