Cordovan leather requires different care than calfskin due to its unique properties. Brush and wipe regularly and apply cream occasionally to protect the leather and maintain its rich color.
Regularly, brush the leather with our Horsehair Shine Brush or wipe with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth.
To Protect and Restore Color, Follow These Steps:
STEP 1: Wipe your shoe down with a damp cloth and allow to dry.
STEP 2: Using your Horsehair Dauber, apply a small amount of Cordovan cream in a circular motion.
STEP 3: While the cream is still slightly wet, take our Horsehair Shine Brush and brush back and forth, heating the cream and leather. This allows the natural oils to move to the surface to bring out the leather's natural shine.
STEP 4: Next, use the soft side of our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth to buff the shoe until the surface is no longer tacky. Often, some excess cream will transfer onto the cloth, which is normal.
STEP 5: Take our Heel Dressing applicator and press against the edge of the heel and sole.
The relaxed fit has added space in the toe box. This extra room allows for thicker socks and foot expansion that occurs at the end of the day or during a long flight.
