STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

*For camo printed leather, simply rub our Leather Lotion onto print with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp cloth.
    Fit

    Relaxed Fit

The relaxed fit has added space in the toe box. This extra room allows for thicker socks and foot expansion that occurs at the end of the day or during a long flight.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shoe I like this shoe so much but am only disappointed in having a defect in the welt. I never expected to receive a shoe I'm sure should be a factory second, if not for that I'd be completely happy. By in store is my recommendation not online.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Shoes - Fits Oddly The Sutter Mill shoes are stylish and quality made. The right foot does not fit correctly. It feels as if the sole is slanted slightly to the right, leaving me feeling off balance and uncomfortable. I have removed the leather inner sole and don't lace up the boots as tightly as I like, and that has helped slightly. My hope is that as they break in, this issue will improve. I have multiple AE shoes and boots, and this has never been an issue in the past, which leads me to believe it is a one off production or build issue.

I wear a 10.5 shoe size but I have a wide foot. Will a 10.5 boot size with a D width work for me with the Sutter Mill boot?

    Asked by: Lucas
The show is ENORMOUS in the front. I think a 10 D will suffice.

Wha is the difference in terms of D and EEE width

I use to have AE shoes ( 7.5 EEE width ). I am wondering if sutter Mill boot (7.5 D width ) would fit to me . What is the difference ( inches) between EEE and D width ? Thank you for your kind assistance
    Asked by: huy22
The EEE is three widths larger that the D width (D, E, EE, EEE). The EEE is the widest width, with a D width considered medium. Technically speaking, each width increases by approximately three-sixteenths of an inch in total girth. Feel free to contact us again with any additional questions.

    Width comfort

Just bought these and I feel the length is just right but they are a tag narrow. Will the boots expand after break in or should I exchange for something that is better fit from day one?

The Sutter Mill boot is listed as being recraftable. Is the XL Henry rubber sole, that this shoe comes with originally, available for recrafting?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Presently, the Sutter Mill is eligible to be Recrafted and the XL Henry sole can be replaced with the same type of sole, unless you request a different sole from the Sole Conversion options on the Recrafting form. Are these Made in the USA?

I received the boots, which are fantastic. The box tag says "Hand Crafted in the Dominican Republic of fine imported leathers." Website says Made in Port Washington, WI. I'm curious where exactly are these made?
    Asked by: jwillee
The Sutter Mill style was initially made in Wisconsin, but its production moved to the Dominican Republic before it was discontinued. The correct manufacturing location of your particular pair should be stamped on the insole of the boots. We apologize for the miscommunication in the description, it will be updated soon. (1.) How many inches tall are the boots? (2.) How is the tongue held in the center to prevent it from being displaced so much to either side?

    Asked by: Knowly
From the inside of the boot to the topline it measures approximately 5"; more or less depending on the size. The tongue is stitched on one side. This attachment allows flexibility on the instep area for a custom fit. If you have concerns about the fit of your boots after trying them on, please call our customer service team directly at 877.817.7615. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
