STEP 3: Next condition the shoes with speed polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take the heel dressing applicator and press against the edge of the heels and soles.

Higgins Mill Boot with Tumbled Leather is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall a very good product I really am liking the boots themselves, I notice the quality and detail over the previous pair of black boots I owned from Timberland. As someone already commented, I'm not crazy about the laces. The waxed lace makes it difficult to get through the hook and initial lace up they're stiff so the laces were short. They are still short as I cannot lace through the last hook but thankfully that isn't really required to wear safely. One small problem ergonomically though was during the initial lace up, I cut my finger (twice) on the fastening side of the eye-hole as they are sharp so be careful when holding the shoe when stringing up the laces the first time. I believe this is the 4th pair of AE shoes I've owned and I rank them as high as the first pair I had, the Odenwald which I thought were great and I believe had for nearly 3 years. And the Higgins having the Dainite soul makes them better for wearing on wet surfaces

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot - but do something about the laces! Bought these to replace a pair of Cascade boots that I bought in 2011 and have worn and worn and worn. These Higgins Mill boots are great - wonderful fit and sharp look. Alas they use the same thick, waxed laces that came on some boots I bought last year. They're miserable - they don't slide well through eyelets or around hooks so both lacing and unlacing is a more laborious process than necessary. The good news (if you can call it that) is that the laces wear out really quickly. I know this is a small quibble, but come on AE, don't cheapen your product with crappy laces!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots, average value, surprisingly bad customer service I really like my new Higgins Mill boots. I wear them very freuquently - they have just the "near workbook but nicer" look and feel I wanted. They do run large, more than what's needed for socks. This is my 7th pair of AE shoes and the first that is not a 10.5. I had to exchange the first pair for 10s, which fit nicely and still have plenty of room for socks. The tongue does move some as others have noted, but not too badly. Value - About two weeks after getting my exchanged boots, I received an email from AE noting that the boots were a full $100 off. That's a big discount and big change in the price of these fairly expensive boots. I contacted them about receiving the the sale price, but was told that they only do that for 10 days. I had had my boots for about 14, so AE refused my request. I believe AE should have given me a slight bit of flexibility in this circumstance and am irritated that they would not. Again, this was my 7th pair of AE shoes. It is very likely my last. For $295, I definitely recommend these boots (likely a half size down). For $395, I recommend waiting for a sale.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fit; material not as good as last version Loved last year’s version, and really wanted it in black. Was excited when it became available in my size. This new version has the same great fit - love the 1757 last, and I think it’s the perfect boot last. For reference, I wear an 11.5D in the 5 last; same in the 201, which is my favorite last for balmorals; and same in this last, which gives me plenty of room in the toe box, and locks in my arch nicely. Workmanship is great - seems well crafted, but haven’t had it long enough to comment on durability. The materials - “imported leather” - are a significant downgrade from the horween chromexel of the previous version. Still a great boot - not as good a value as it was, with the lesser leather.

I like my Long Banch brown boots, but want a more dressy boot - the Higgins Mill black. Will the leather be as soft and will the tow box be as large.

    I wear 13E
    Asked by: John
The feel of the leather is similar. With that said, leather that has been broken in overtime will be softer than a brand new pair. We suggest trying it to see how you like it. The Higgins MIll has a Relaxed Fit. The relaxed fit has added space in the toe box. This extra room allows for thicker socks and foot expansion that occurs at the end of the day or during a long flight. What leather tannery is this from?

"Grained leather" isn't descriptive enough. Is this Horween? Or a lower quality tannery?
    Asked by: ProudlyMadeinUSA
Thank you for reaching out to us. Horween is only used for our cordovan styles. We import our leathers from multiple companies. However, the Higgins Mill is made from high quality full grain leather. If you have any additional questions feel free to contact us 1-877-817-7615 or eservice@allenedmonds.com

    Grained CXL?

The description says that these are made of CXL, just like the previous version. The pictures look like a grained or textured leather. Are these grained CXL?
