STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

    Classic Fit

Most people consider a “classic” fit to be a “standard” fit. This fit more closely aligns with the natural shape of your feet.

Strandmok Cap-Toe Oxford with Dainite Rubber Sole is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My pair from the current sale already showed up Fast shoes. The leather turns out to be just like my much-liked, discontinued Kitsap. If the Kitsap has a certain low-key casual elegance with a lightweight rubber-leather combo sole, a few rough edges and some decorative perforations, the Strandmok is, um, assertive from the red rubber Dainite sole to a black trim at the welt to all that perforation. I think the leather will get "stressed" nicely. Good urban walking shoe. The simpler, lighter Kitsap is a favorite shoe. I snatched the Strandmok because of a nice sale price and was a bit surprised at getting a favorite leather along with the sturdy favorite sole. I've inadvertently grown a Strandmok-type collection. A Strandmok pair for really wet weather, a McTavish with Vibram sole for messy conditions, a Bartlett with super-soft leather, and now this Strandmok with Danite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe! This is my second pair of AE’s. While my first pair was a really good, solid pair of shoes (Higgins Mill, tumbled leather), these were superior in every way. The Strandmok style in general can be dressed up with a shirt and tie or dressed down to jeans and t-shirt. For a proper fit, you might need a half size smaller in the length. In almost every other style I have tried, I am a 12D for shoe size. If I were to do it again, I would probably order an 11.5D for this particular model. The advice on the internet is that these run a bit narrow as well, and they do feel that way. However, the closed lacing system would probably be too large if you go too much wider than your normal size. Judging by the leather, I anticipate that they will break in and become more comfortable over time. The leather is a bit stiff out of the box, however. The shoe feels tough as nails. No blemishes or thread problems. The welt is solid and secure with no gaps. Leather seems like it might show scuffs and marks, but the Strandmok style often has a “distressed” look anyway. The quality control on the pair I received was excellent. Overall, I am very pleased!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent - bring back other colors I have had mine for a few years (since they came out) and absolutely love them. Professional and casual, all in one. I just wish they would bring back the other colors so I could have a few different colors to mix it up a bit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice casual shoe with style! I love the strandmok shoe for all day comfort in a casual shoe that also has trademark style! With the rubber sole it's good on any surface, and the more rugged look pairs great with either jeans or slacks. The detailing is beautiful and just as good as the bigger brother strand. These were comfortable right out of the box. My new favorite shoes! Thanks AE!

    Where are these actually made?

The description reads “Handcrafted in Port Washington” but my shoes say “Made in Dominican Republic.” Can you clarify? Seems very disappointing and a bit deceptive.

We apologize for the error in the description. The Strandmok style #4028 and #4028s are made in our Dominican Republic factory. The description will be updated soon. I wear shoe size EU 45 Uk 11 what size will fit me in strandmok shoes

Never bought ur brand of shoes before so kindly advise
    Asked by: Mani
Allen Edmonds shoes are true-to-size as they are designed following the sizing standards of the Brannock Device. The length from the heel to the ball of the foot is the same for all of our styles in the same size. However, the feel of the shoe can change depending on the last, height, and depth of the shoe. For this reason, we are unable to recommend sizes via this channel and guarantee a proper fit.

What care products do you recommend to maintain the slightly rough/antique look?

I am concerned that with using cream polish it will ruin the slightly rough/antique finish to the leather. Is the finish more about the buffing and less about the type of care product?
    Asked by: Luke
The Strandmok style #4028 has a surface similar to a nubuck leather, and therefore we recommend using suede and nubuck care products on this style. * Suede and Nubuck Cleaning System * Water Protector You can find them here: If you have further questions, please call us at 877-817-7615. Thank you!

What type of leather Is this limited edition strandmok

    Asked by: Marchand
I would describe it as somewhat similar to the older gray McTavish. It wears like hard leather (like the brown brush-off strandmok) but the surface feels like sueded nubuck to the touch. It will fit tighter/more snug than the CXL (like the gray & black Strandmok) but not enough to change sizes.

will an insert work with this shoe? I want the extra comfort

I am getting the size 12B. I am not sure but 11 1/2 B might work but I think an insert would be better. Am I on the right track?
    Asked by: Cotton
Because these are made with a insole that can't be removed, you could "add" an insole but you would have to change your size to do so. I guess you could take the insoles to a dealer and put them in and find the correct fit and width. AE's are more comfortable than any others because of the way they put a cork bed in them. These are not your "typical" dress shoe brand. I will not be wasting my money on cheaper shoes because they don't last as long and are no where near as comfortable.
