Badlands Comfort Shoe is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 225.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable shoe I have purchased over a dozen Allen Edmonds shoes over the years, I now have a black pair along with my brown pair. I think they are the most comfortable shoe in my collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MARVELOUS Comfortable, stylish, awesome. What more can I say!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from If You Call it a "Comfort Shoe" it Should Have a Larger Toe Box If you are buying this for comfort, as you might be given its name, you need to know that it is built on a last with a less than generously sized toe box. So, even though I bought a EEE width, the toe box was much too snug for my foot. Not comfortable! Shoes were purchased on-line and returned to local store.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Well Built But Painful To Wear! I normally wear size 10.5 wide (10.5E) or 10 wide. 10.5E was ordered and the fit was slightly loose as well as there being more than an inch and a half of empty space in front of my large toe, making the shoes clumsy to walk in. Allen Edmonds exchanged the size10.5E shoes for 10E and I have been wearing them for three weeks now in an attempt to "break them in." The right shoe feels a bit tight but is wearable. However the left shoe is so tight my foot regularly falls asleep and it feels like it's being held in a vice grip. Though the shoes are of obvious good quality I can only bear using them at work and must massage my feet a few times throughout the day to restore circulation. They don't feel like "comfort" shoes. It's a real disappointment because the shoes look great and are made of very good materials, but since they put my feet to sleep and cause pain means they can't be recommended under these circumstances.

What color polish should I order this color shoe: Select Color 8091 Brown

I wear the Alumni in size 11 1/2 D. How similar is the fit of the Badlands?

    Asked by: CSW
The Alumnus was made on the 2321 last, which was known to have a wider appearance. The Badlands is made on the 65 last, which was made for a narrow look. At Allen Edmonds, we believe the right fit is vitally important. If you are a first-time Allen Edmonds customer, we recommend a professional fitting by an Allen Edmonds associate at your nearest retail location or an authorized Allen Edmonds dealer. Is there a belt that matches the Badlands shoe is brown?

I know the Badlands in brown has a lighter almost orange-like tint to it. I’ve been searching for a matching belt but haven’t had any luck.
    Asked by: Mike203
Thank you for reaching out to us. We unfortunately do not have a belt that will perfectly match the Brown Badlands. We apologize for this inconvenience.

    Which replacement laces for Badlands?

Great shoe. The laces that come with it are distinctive and add to the look. I just broke one, though. - What replacement laces should I buy?
    Asked by: Darwin
We recommend the Basic Glazed Replacement Laces. We apologize at this time the flat laces included with the Badlands are not available for sale online. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

They recommend just using a Leather Condtioner. AE makes a great one!

    Badlands size

I'm a 10.5e on my park avenue s. But the Badlands shoe seem a bit too wide.

I wear 12 eee on all my AE shoes, 10 pairs. On my Park Avenues, I had to get 13. I just use different socks on all the shoes.

Would these shoes be good for walking up to 5 miles in a day?

I'm looking for a comfortable shoe to take to Europe on vacation but I also want to look classy and not so touristy. Are these shoes good for site seeing if I rotate them with another pair while on vacation?
    Asked by: Dave
The Badlands is handcrafted using our traditional welted construction during which we apply a layer of cork between the insole and outsole that allows the footbed to conform to the shape of your feet. This is what makes our shoes so comfortable. It also features a PORON® layer that provides extra cushioning. In addition, the sturdy Othello rubber sole is known as one of our most comfortable soles for its shock absorption qualities. It is a great shoe for walking and as with the rest of our footwear we recommend rotating it with another pair or two during your travels. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

What is the difference between Badlands and the LAX Derby shoe, except of course the Last.

They both look very similar to me..
    Asked by: FR
I have several Road Warriors shoes, though not the LAX, and both colors of Badlands. Both are cushioned. The LAX gives slightly more with each step, because of the orthotic. The LAX also has lighter-weight leather. You'll have to judge which you prefer. I prefer the Badlands, though the Road Warriors are fine too. The Badlands leather is more similar to other AE shoes, though softer. It can be polished. It won't give a really shiny appearance, but neither does my Park Avenue. The Bandlands is on the 65 last, which is used for AE's traditional dress shoes. In some ways I'd rate the Badlands as closer to an AE dress shoe, even though it's considered casual and the LAX dress. (In fact I have a dress shoe with the identical design on the same last, differing only in sole and leather. I don't see it in the current catalog.) I'd say the brown Badlands is close to walnut, though a bit redder.
