Dalton Wingtip Dress Boots is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 371.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed I have purchased Allen Edmunds shoes for 30 years and have owned 20 pairs. This was my first time buying the boots and I could not be more disappointed. The quality was good but they just did not fit. I tried working them and adjusting the fit but ended up giving them to goodwill after wearing just a half dozen times. I did call and ask for a replacement for a larger size and was told that was not possible. Again, very disappointing from a company I thought I could trust. Note that I bought them online as my size and experience with AE shoes has been great. Very disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dalton Wingtip These are without doubt the best I have ever purchased. Craftsmanship is superb and break in was easy. Recieved many compliments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the looks and color selection Love them! These are the classiest dress/casual ankle boots on the market. A little pricey, but worth it since the recrafting charge is quite reasonable. I own three pairs now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed When I originally purchased these boots at the end of 2016, they squeaked like crazy. I sent them back to be treated for the squeaking, which somewhat helped. I was eventually sent a new pair because the finish was damaged by an AE leather product that is now no longe sold. The second pair of new boots I received midway through 2017 also squeaked extremely loudly at first and still squeak to this day (Nov. 2018), though not as badly. Aside from being frustrated with the continued squeaking, I’m beyond disappointed that the leather on one of the tongues has ripped. For th cost of these boots, I would have expected better quality. Very discouraging and disheartening.

Do these or any boots come in a "C" width?

    Asked by: Anonymous
We apologize, we currently do not offer boots in a C width. We recommend a professional fitting by an Allen Edmonds associate at your nearest retail location or an authorized Allen Edmonds dealer. A store associate will be able to assist you in finding the best size/width combination for you in these styles. What size Dalton Wingtip Dress Boot would likely be a good fit for me given that I currently wear a size 10.5 D Bartlett

Can you suggest any other boots that might be a better fit if the Dalton boots are not.
    Asked by: RKU
I'm also a 10.5 D. I purchased a size 11D. They fit perfectly. I purchased them from a brick and mortar store. In Austin Tx.

Will oxblood belt go with burgundy cordovan?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Oxblood is lighter than Burgundy Cordovan and will not coordinate well. We recommend pairing the boots with the Cordovan Tab Belt in Burgundy. Feel free to contact us again if you have additional questions!

    How are they, comfort-wise?

Without naming competitor names, I've found other shell cordovan wingtip boots to feel like lead weights with no cushioning at all. I've always been impressed with AE comfort. How would you rate these?
    Asked by: Ogre202
Thank you for reaching out to us. We appreciate your interest in our shoes. Our shoes use a cork inlay, this ensures that the shoes will perfectly form to your feet to provide the most comfort possible.

Cordovan in walnut or tan color?

Do you offer these boots in a lighter color like walnut or tan? I think the cordovan shoes should be offered in this color. These boots and cordovan leather is perfect but the color is off. You will not find many professionals under 40 who will wear dark shoes anymore. Most Wear walnut or tan. I only wear dark shoes for very conservative business functions, formals, or funerals.
    Asked by: Joe37
Thank you for your inquiry and comments. The Dalton in Shell Cordovan is currently only offered in Burgundy. We offer the Dalton in calfskin in Walnut. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

    Size

How does a 9d size in McNeil 2.0 compare to the Dalton boot?
    Asked by: Joseph
The Macneil 2.0 is constructed on the 97 Last, which is the best fit for the average foot. The 97 last is one of Allen Edmonds early lasts, and has a soft, slightly pointed toe. It lays flatter in the toe area for a classic American look. The Dalton is constructed on the 511 Last, and this last is similar to the 97 last from heel to the ball of the foot, yet with a more rounded, fuller fitting toe. The 511 last is used in many of our boots because of the added room in the toe box. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
