Park Avenue Cap-toe Oxford with Dainite Rubber Sole is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dainite A cap-toe is about as much design I personally like on a shoe, so the Park Ave is fantastic for my tastes. I walk about 3-5 miles a day between my two offices, excluding anything before or after work. The Dainite sole is fantastic and truly reduces fatigue!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Quality Shoe After searching for a quality pair of oxfords, I settled for the AE brand, Park Ave shoe with dainite sole, size 9.5 EEE, black, purchased and ordered from an AE store in NYC. I work in NYC and the sole choice was an important option for me. Another decision choice for me was that AE are made in America. I bought them on a holiday sale and as a first time customer which added a 15% discount. This is the first time I have spent this much money on a pair of shoes and I believe I have made a good, solid investment in this shoe. I have owned Florsheim shoes for years and wanted to up my shoe game! The overall cost I paid was average compared with other, higher end online Italian made shoe companies (Paul Evans and Beckett Simonon). First time out of the box, I wore them for 6 1/2 hours at an event. Overall, I believe AE could improve the comfortability of the shoe with a better, more comfortable insert. It is a comfortable, smooth upper leather, no break in period, but the shoe felt a little hard to stand in. No dustbag or shoe horn was included in the box. The quality and craftsmanship is well built and the AE reputation holds strong. I have looked at Italian shoe brands such as Paul Evans and Beckett Simonon. Neither of those companies offer a EEE shoe or dainite sole (D width is too tight even with an upsize) but my advise to PE would be to keep a close eye on these companies as their shoes are amazing!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buy anything else... I am writing this review as a very disappointed customer of allen edmonds. I bought a pair of Plain Toe oxford less than a year ago and these shoes are falling apart even after me taking extremely good care of them. Unfortunately this page doesnt allow me to upload pics, so picture this. There is 1.5 x 1.5 in hole (yes a hole) on the outside sole of my shoes. Then on the left foot picture another hole right underneath the first hole. So in effect the layer u see from the bottom is the same layer on which the foot rests. So now if u step on a wet surface the water seeps through into ur sock and not just that , the inner layer will leave brownish stains on your socks. So now your socks are ruined as well. Even more surprisingly at the front end of the shoe water seeps through there as well if u have walked on a wet surface for 5 steps even though nothing seems wrong with them. How can I be sure u ask. Because of the outline of the water that is formed on the sole. Then there is the sole itself which has started to come off the heel. I understand that the wearing off of the heel is due to the fact that I over pronate when I walk and I was expecting this wearing. Regrettably, the sole from the 3 sides at the heel have started to come off on both the shoes. I had taken great care of these shoes. Wore them alternate days. Polished them every 2 weeks. Bought those $20 shoe tree and inserted them in my shoes every day without fail as these shoes at $400 were an investment for me. But within a year these shoes are in a worse condition than my previous $70 ones were. I contacted the customer service multiple times to complain through email and phone and I was told to ship these shoes to Washington at my own expense where it would take 3 weeks for them to decide about what the problem is and that I will be charged for the repairs too. It is very disappointing. The whole point of buying expensive good is to have good quality stuff that gives you one less thing to worry about in life. But these shoes not only require high maintenance but wouldnt even hold well after that for a year. Unless you are really rich.....actually not even then. Just look elsewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic looking shoe, very clean The build quality and look are superb. Followed some of the recommended lacing guides on the website to really finish them off. Purchased a wide version (3E) at 11.5. The 11.5 ran true and was a good size match comparison to my other shoe branded. The 3E without an insole was very roomy in the toe box. When adding a full length insole, the toes become a bit crowded on the edge to the point that over time it starts to hurt. I’ll have to put in a 3/4 insole and should be fine - plenty of space in the heel area and because it’s laced you can expand the mid section to something comfortable. The only con I can think about is that they run pretty heavy per shoe. Not a deal breaker, but something to be mindful of it your going to be walking quite a bit during the day. I look forward to buying another design if/when they come on sale again.

    Poron layer?

Usually when AE includes a danite outsole on a particular style, the inside includes a layer of poron glued on top of the original lining. The website photos don't show this - are they correct as-is?
    Asked by: Anonymous
This style features a traditional foot-bed with a cork layer, and does not have a PORON® insole. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

    Material mistake in the heel?

Dear all, two weeks ago, I bought a pair of these shoes in one of your shops in Denver. Back home in Germany I had to realise that the soles make a loud, unpleasant squeetching (?) noise when I walk (both shoes). So loud that I cannot use them in the office. My local AE dealer believes, without being sure, that this is a material mistake. I contacted your agent, Mr Walter, in Germany, but he does not see the issue within his responsibility. After 20 years of loyalty to AE shoes, this is the first time I experience something like this. I am somewhat surprised and disappointed. What do you recommend I do? Thanks, Albrecht Grell
