STEP 2: Moisturize the shoes with cream polish to make them supple and soft, following instructions on the product.

STEP 3: Next condition the shoes with speed polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take the heel dressing applicator and press against the edge of the heels and soles.

STEP 5: Apply leather lotion as needed for added protection and polish between cleanings.

*For camo printed material, simply rub leather lotion onto print with a white cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp white cloth.

Park Avenue Cap-toe Oxford with Dainite Rubber Sole is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Major cost cutting shows. Seconds being passed off as 1sts! Insufficient packaging in terms of size and quality can't recommend this company anymore! The old AE shoes I purchased including the Carlyle, Strand and Fifth Avenue were great. I ordered the Park Avenue 1st Cyber Monday and they came with obvious small scratches and indentations and look like 2nds. They provided an estimate of 2-3 weeks to be crafted which was fine, but then they suddenly had a surplus and shipped early what I assume to be seconds. The new cheap packaging didn't include the shoe bags that kept the shoes from getting scratched further. The paper they use to package the shoes is stiff and rough. This looks like they should be $100. I have had cheap Timberland dress shoes from two years ago as a burner pair for dirty jobs and they came better packaged with higher quality materials. At $180 I have had shoes come with decent shoe bags. The heels immediately on the Dainite are off from my previous 5th avenues and not correct. They upped the prices and gutted the quality of AE. AE I used to refer to everyone I knew looking to start out, now I need to look elsewhere unless they can convince me otherwise. This is a bad joke. I will be contacting everyone that I know who I, unfortunately, suggested purchase during the Cyber Monday sale to cancel if the items haven't shipped and get ready to be disappointed at the new cost-cutting AE. If they wanted to charge for the shoe bags so be it, but don't be deceptive and state they are free with an asterisk (that they must be in cart already). Also, the new shoe bag is one large thin one instead of the existing two individual shoe bags that were plush. I would pay the extra $10 for the old proper shoe bags if you want to lower the pricing and give people the option properly notated at checkout. I have 0 tolerance for deceptive practices. Last year the beginning of the end was when they kept shipping out defective Poplar belts, which they resell and do not make which is fine if they were decent. It took 5 returns to get one that didn't have an obvious defect including a scratched buckle, poorly molded buckle with a sharp unfinished edge, missing dye, dye on the buckle. 0 quality control.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Something has changed I have been buying the Park Avenue for years as well as other AE shoes on the 65 last for 20+ years---they have always fitted me perfectly right out of the box. But I have just returned my second pair of Park Avenues (coffee with rubber soles) because it seems their heel area has expanded and no longer holds my foot. I believe AE has perhaps started making shoes larger?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Control I ordered two pairs on sale. One pair was a matte finish and the right shoe was too narrow (not consistent with other AE 65 last shoes I own in the same size and width). The second pair was polished finish and the uppers did not match when laced: one shoe the uppers were parallel when laced and the other shoe the uppers formed a classic AE “V” pattern when laced. Both pairs were returned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Packaging and accessory changes. Shoes are fantastic! New packaging is unsat! Shoes at this price point should come with shoe bags.....One for each shoe! While more aesthetically pleasing and better constructed, the shoe box is much smaller now forcing you to store shoes on their sides with leather against leather. Shoe bags not included anymore, just tissue paper. You can purchase shoe bags separately from AE, but it is a redesigned single larger bag to accommodate both shoes in the same bag. This does not protect the shoe as well from rubbing against each other and makes fitting in a suitcase more challenging.

Chili color different from dark chili?

The Park Avenue with Dainite Sole has a 5621 Chili color option, is that different from the normal dark chili or is that a typo?

    Poron layer?

Usually when AE includes a danite outsole on a particular style, the inside includes a layer of poron glued on top of the original lining. The website photos don't show this - are they correct as-is?
    Asked by: Anonymous
This style features a traditional foot-bed with a cork layer, and does not have a PORON® insole. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

    Material mistake in the heel?

Dear all, two weeks ago, I bought a pair of these shoes in one of your shops in Denver. Back home in Germany I had to realise that the soles make a loud, unpleasant squeetching (?) noise when I walk (both shoes). So loud that I cannot use them in the office. My local AE dealer believes, without being sure, that this is a material mistake. I contacted your agent, Mr Walter, in Germany, but he does not see the issue within his responsibility. After 20 years of loyalty to AE shoes, this is the first time I experience something like this. I am somewhat surprised and disappointed. What do you recommend I do? Thanks, Albrecht Grell
