Lake Bluff Weave Dress Loafer is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 97.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoes! These are really beautiful shoes. I got black. They fit well out of the box, but did require some breaking in. I'd been eyeing them for some time, but when they went on sale I couldn't resist. I don't understand some of the comments regarding fit. I'm a 9.5 D and these fit like they were made for me. This is my fifth pair of AE shoes, and I've never been disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite shoe in my collection This shoe is very well-made and comfortable, but I would recommend going one width narrower than usual. Otherwise, it is a fine shoe that has not creased and is breathable

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice shoe I have shopped many competitors shoes and for the quality and price Allen Edmonds shoes are consistently the best. This is a very nice and stylish shoe which is true to size.

I have multiple pair of AE but all in 12.5D. The lake bluff doesn’t some in 12.5, would a 12 or 13 work best?

    Asked by: Tony
Allen Edmonds shoes are constructed on a wide variety of lasts (foot molds) and each will feature unique fit characteristics. It is difficult to recommend a size through this channel and guarantee a proper fit because each style can fit differently based on the contours of your feet. Typically, we recommend trying the same size you usually wear and judge the fit based on how comfortable you feel in the shoes. Since you are in between sizes, we suggest trying bothh the 12 and 13 to see what you feel most comfortable in.   It is vitally important to visit an Allen Edmonds retail store or retail partner for a professional fitting to increase your chances of being fit correctly for each last and style. However, keep in mind that products purchased on AllenEdmonds.com may be returned at any time, as long as the item is unused and accompanied by the packing slip.  Trying the shoes on a carpeted surface will help prevent scuffing on the sole and keep the shoes in returnable condition.

Is there a noticable ventilation advantage to the weave versus a standard solid leather vamp?

I would like to know if this will be more comfortable from a perspiration standpoint when worn sockless.
    Asked by: alan
I didn't find any. However, I wear my pair all through the summer without socks.

What colour for edge dressing and uppers

What colour edge dressing and premium polish should I use when I want to touch up the uppers and soles?
    Asked by: Anonymous
I would think you are talking about the dark chili. I use a cream polish that most closely resembles the lighter hues in the shoe. Dark areas will take care of themselves. I really like the AE conditioner after I clean the uppers. Once that dries and brush the shoe it is ready to accept cream polish. I use brown dressing on the soles. But that is really just a matter a taste. I have a few pairs of dark chili and I use different colors of cream on each of them. One is a London tan, it has a hint of orange in it and the other I use light brown. A good rule of thumb is to use creams that are lighter is color and compliment the shoe. Once you go darker you really cannot go back to lighter.

Wear 10 1/2 D comfortably in Lowry Hill and Mayfield. Seems like this Lake Bluff Weave is a bit more narrow design. Would you suggest same size?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Yes. I believe it is a full cut shoe. I wear an 11E normally. When I get a narrow shoe I need a EEE. This shoe I have in an 11E

What's the difference between this model and the Carlsbad?

    Asked by: Anonymous
The Carlsbad is constructed on the 222 Last which has an elongated toe with a slightly higher instep and a more narrow fit in the forefoot creating a sleek silhouette and rounded European look. The penny strap is part of the upper as a single piece of leather. The Lake Bluff is constructed on the 2042 last which is a new slip-on last inspired for a new aesthetic in our ‘refined’ dress category. It has a pinch penny strap, meaning the strap is a separate piece of leather. Also, the tongue has woven leather, as opposed to the Carlsbad which only has the woven leather on the vamp. Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
