Sea Island Suede Loafer is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 163.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent casual shoe This one is barely a keeper. Runs small so take yhat into consideration at least mine were. I wear a 10 d in everything. These ran tight but should loosen up a lityle with wear. Socks are out for these ordered at mormal size. Killer looks. Build quslity is a 3-1/2. Should be recraftable but not. As for the good sale price is spot on. Killer looks. None better So I feel generous and give them a 4. Leather quality is decent. If u get one of the "good pairs" u will b happy. At this price its prob worth taking a chance with the knowldge that u may have to go through the pricess if exchange. to get a perfect pair. With all this im considering getting another pair. These are imported so u do take a risk. This style is a high volume popular item so it looks better than other AR imports O have encountered. Ill reccomend this product given the noted conditions. Somilar products from other hrands are worse

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love These More and More I have wanted a pair of Sea Islands since they were introduced, but I could never justify the expense of a non-recraftable shoe at that price. When I saw the sale price plus additional off in cart, I couldn't resist. They are beautiful, and fit perfectly. I can tell these are going to be a Summer go to for me! This is about my 17th or 18th pair of Allen Edmonds, and once again, they are on point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes! “Perfect for sockless wear“ (Navy) I own the Sea Island Loafer in navy, and yes, I bought them expressly to wear as house slippers without socks. What a dream! I love AE’s soft leather lining, and when I couldn’t go out this winter, I got into the habit of trying on my mail-order AEs in my bare feet, and luxuriating in them. These are perfect. I even like the fact that they are traditional soles (not casual) and go clippety-clop on my hard wood floors. The color is spectacular, a jewel-tone version of navy blue. The photos’ color is accurate, but still doesn’t convey the full beauty. Put these on your list — however you plan to wear these, you will enjoy them very much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very satisfied with my purchase Hesitant to buy these because of reading a few unhappy reviews regarding fit and not being made on the 65 last that has fit me perfectly for my last eight purchases.of AE dress shoes. Also, made in DR vs USA. Love these shoes. Classic style in a Gorgeous color and luxurious suede. Fit perfect. No regrets. Love my purchase. Allen Edmonds has yet to fail me. Why I never shop other shoe brands anymore in USA. I do buy shoes while in Germany and Austria every year because of their outstanding quality. AE does rival theirs and is even carried in their upscale stores where they command a higher price likely due to import duties.

I normally wear a 11.5 D, but in your kentwood penny loafer I wear an 11 D. What length would you recommend for me in the seaisland loafer?

    Asked by: Anonymous
I wear 11.5 EE in Kenwood loafers and wear 11.5 EEE in the Sea Island. I find all AE loafers in current sizing tend to run narrow. AE length seems to hold true for me, but generally seems narrower than in earlier years. In Nashua I bought 11.5 D and had to send back for 11.5 E

My husband wears a 61/2 EEEEEE do you have any casual shoes in that size

    Asked by: Loggy1331
I am not knowledge of any company that makes shoe that wide. In the 1960's and 70"s Red Wing made an H width. My grandfather who taught me how and why to measure a person's two feet every visit, often said if they had a foot wider than an H we would just have to give them the box. He further said we would not sell shoes that did Not fit, because it only took one pair of shoes that did not fit to ruin a pair of feet. Deceased grandfather Roger Neal Sutton, Sr.

I know this shoe is NOT eligible for the recrafting service but "Can just the heel be replaced?"

    Asked by: Anonymous
While AE won't take the time to do it, any good cobbler will be able to replace the sole and heel.

Can the rubber heel insert be replaced?

My rubber heel insert is just about worn down, I was told not to put taps on these so I never did. What options are there to replace the rubber insert so I can continue to wear these shoes (which I love btw) without looking like someone who doesn't take care of their footware?
    Asked by: pete
The rubber piece is called a top lift, and a cobbler can replace it easily and cheaply. As always, be sure to find a good cobbler; unfortunately bad ones can mess up even simple jobs.

Shoe Trees in Sea Island Suede Loafer

Do you recommend the use of shoe trees in the Sea Island Suede Loafers or would the use of shoe trees actually damage the soft suede?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Shoe trees will stretch this particular suede due to it being so supple- and they may also damage the throat and or vamp of this shoe. I personally would NOT use shoe trees in this shoe. Allow it to have natural character.
