STEP 1: Using a damp cloth or sponge, lather saddle soap and apply onto leather to clean and restore its natural oils.

STEP 2: Moisturize the shoes with cream polish to make them supple and soft, following instructions on the product.

STEP 3: Next condition the shoes with speed polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take the heel dressing applicator and press against the edge of the heels and soles.

STEP 5: Apply leather lotion as needed for added protection and polish between cleanings.

*For camo printed material, simply rub leather lotion onto print with a white cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp white cloth.

    Classic Fit

Most people consider a “classic” fit to be a “standard” fit. This fit more closely aligns with the natural shape of your feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek and stylish and more.! I love this shoe.! I own it in Walnut, and it is my go to shoe when I want to look sleek, stylish and cool. I wear this shoe when I want my shoe to be noticed and not just seen. It is just elegance personified. This shoe makes people ASK about my shoe collection. It is a conversation starter. Shoe affectionados love it, and novices just hunker for learning more about it. It is one of the more comfortable shoes in my collection and I wear them with dress pants, dark denim, and sweaters. Very easy to polish and the leather is quite soft. It has light broguing and does not disappoint. This is a shoe for a stylish man. I have to remember to properly accentuate when wearing them to really bring out the look. High gloss shine looks the best to me with this one. Not for the faint of heart.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy Very happy with my first, but not last, pair of the Cornwallis model. Picked them up on sale in my favorite color, burnished Merlot. The 1943 last fits me well. I sized up a width as I do for the 5 last. Zero break in, comfortable from day one and I have worn them four times now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cap creases I do like the look and style of the Cornwallis; however, mine developed painful creasing below the cap on both shoes. It isn't a sizing issue as one might suspect. Whatever the issue they are unwearable at this point. I have several AE shoes and performance has always been satisfactory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality, Great Experience The Cornwallis Dress Oxford is the perfect blend of modern style and classic appeal. As this was my first pair of Allen Edmond shoes, I was intrigued to see what their standard of quality was after reading about the company, the brand, and their craftmenship. I can now say I will be a long time Allen Edmonds customer. You can really see and feel the difference with this shoe. I appreciate the detail that you can tell was done buy hand throughout the shoe. This Oxford is in my current 4-5 work shoe rotation and will remain forever. It will take some wears to break in and it fits true to size in terms of length. I would recommend verifying your shoe width as they may run slightly narrow. I have since bought another pair of Allen Edmond shoes, with a few more in my sights. Customer service and employee knowledge is something that also needs to be noted as it is very stellar amongst their employees from my experience.

How do i care for my Chili Cornwallis?

Hi, I purchased the Chili Cornwallis Oxford and have reviewed the recommended care and the related video on the site however, they seem to recommend a few products. My goal is to keep the shoes looking as great as possible, maximize the health, and remove the daily scuffs. Can you please advise which product(s) to use to care for them? Thanks!
    Asked by: Chris
We recommend following the instructions on our 'Caring for Calfskin' video. The shoe care products we recommend for calfskin dress styles are Leather Lotion, Dark Chili Premium Shoe Polish, a soft cloth, a horsehair shine brush, Chili Heel & Sole Edge Dressing, and full-toe cedar shoe trees. https://www.allenedmonds.com/discover/shoes-101/shoe-care.html Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

Which heel and edge dressing are recommended for the Cornwallis line of shoes?

    Asked by: Anonymous
We recommend applying the color that matches the color of the sole edge. The Black and Navy Cornwallis have a black edge, so we recommend the black dressing. The Brown Cornwallis has brown edge, so we recommend the brown dressing. For the Dark Chili Cornwallis would be the chili dressing. Finally, the Walnut Cornwallis has a light brown edge so you can use the neutral dressing. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

    Navy Blue

The navy blue color is rather dark. Do the shoes lighten up as I wear them? Assuming using neutral polish.
    Asked by: Anonymous
The leather color is determined during the tanning process and enhanced with finishing. Leather may naturally slightly darken or lighten overtime with normal wear, local climate or weather conditions, or light exposure, but the navy color itself does not wear off. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

    Counters on the Cornwallis

Are the counters a different shape or material on the Cornwallis? I have noticed that these areas of this shoe are not quite as stiff as other AE shoes I own. This is my first AE oxford/Blucher shoe without a cap or wing design. This shoe exhibits a secondary break closer to the toe than my other AE shoes. Is this a function of the newer design and chiseled toe? Or is this just a leather shoe acting like a leather shoe? I am very pleased with this shoe.
    Asked by: Shoe nut
The Cornwallis is a Balmoral dress shoe. The last a shoe is constructed will be the main factor in determining how a style fits you, so if you like the fit at the heel counter it's possible it is because it complements the shape of your heel. Also, the pattern of the shoe as well as the contours of the foot will cause a shoe to flex in different areas. If you like the comfort of the Cornwallis, we suggest trying other styles made on the same 1943 last as they will have a similar fit. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
