Park Avenue Cap-toe Oxford is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 1107.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It fits! I'm so enthusiastic to find a shoe company that sells narrow widths. I'll never buy another pair of shoes from any other company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Allen Edmonds Park Avenue Cap toe Oxford in Oxblood color can be worn with just about any attire ! With the upcoming wedding of my one-and-only Daughter, and the purchase of my Ralph Lauren navy blue pin-striped suit, I knew that the only way to complete my attempt at looking my absolute best, was to finish the look with a new pair of Allen Edmonds Park Avenue Cap-Toe Oxford shoes in the Oxblood color. The shoes added that final "touch-of-class" to complete everything else ! I chose Allen Edmonds because of their excellent quality, customer service, and most of all because they still make a true-to-size product that I can depend on; There is no debating that a size 12 EEE, will truly be a size 12 EEE ! Thank God for a good American shoe manufacturer that hasn't sold out to some foreign country. Some may say that Allen Edmonds products are "pricey", but when you consider the high quality, the fit, and very important refurbishing service available, the over-all cost averages out to be a great value ! Take it from me, I spend many hours a day on my feet, and as we age, it becomes more and more evident that the condition of your feet is an important factor to your over-all physical health !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoes Great shoes and I plan on purchasing another pair in another color soon. I agree with their advice on visiting a store and trying them on before you buy to make sure one has the proper fit My only criticism is the exchange time frame. It took 10 business days once the old shoes were received to process and send out the new shoes. That being said, the customer service reps I spoke to were very helpful.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really not a sterling example of AE quality. First off: this is my 16th pair of Allen Edmonds and was looking for a plain, black cap-toe. Overall, the issues I experienced are typical of AE (consistently poor quality control and lack of attention to detail) Here are my points: * Size Ordered: 14B (I normally wear a 14C or 14B in AE's) * Leather: Visibly a lower-grade than expected. Mis-matched graining, finish looked VERY cheap and flat. Like Indian leather. No depth or shine out of the box. I had to spend a good 30 minutes polishing them to get a shine on them. * Fit and finish. As expected for AE's. Some missed stitches, loose ends, and crude stitching lines. Insole was not positioned straight (offset in one shoe). * Overall fit. The shoes were noticeably smaller and tighter than other AE's in 14B sizes that I own. To the point of being uncomfortable after walking around in them.

What polishing cream do i use for the color midnight Navy

I have black, chili, natural polish from AE. What about the midnight Navy color?

    Matching belt

I purchased the dark chili Park Avenue cap-toes and a chili burnished calf wide dress belt, which I assume to be the closest match. The colors are similar but not exact. Is there a belt color that’s a closer match?
    Asked by: Ryan
Thank you for reachinig out to us. We would recommend the Manistee belt in Dark Chili.

Why are my new dull in sheen?

I was so excited to get a new pair of high quality shoes, did some research on line and liked the look of the Park Avenue Cap-Toe Oxfords. The shoes shown on your site have a shiny sheen to them. I was willing to pay up but when I opened the box the shoes had a matte sheen. Not classy, more casual. Is this normal or did I get a bad pair? I ordered through Nordstrom. I just want to make sure before making a decision. If this is the case, I will go back to Clarks or look elsewhere. Thanks
    Asked by: Tom
It sounds like you got the normal park avenue shoes, not the cordovan ones. The normal park avenues have a more matte finish.

I Have a 9.5D in the Park Ave. The length is fine but they are just too narrow to wear all day. Do you recommend a 10D or a 9.5E or EE?

My Bartletts, Hopkinsons, and Jeffersons are 10D's. The width is fine but might be just a bit long. Although I am happy overall with them.

Is the park avenue cap toe built on the same last as the byron

    Asked by: Anonymous
The Park Avenue is constructed on the 65 Last. The discontinued Byron was made on the 234 Last. 65 LAST Known more simply as the 5 last, the 65 last is our most popular, classic fitting last. The longest in length of all of our lasts; best for a long, narrow look; and often the best fit for those with high arches. Our best-selling Park Avenue is made on the 65 last. 234 LAST The 234 last was the first Allen Edmonds last with a non-rounded toe. The 234 last is modeled after the 97 last for the best fit for the average foot, but with a less pronounced point and subtly squared-off toe. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

How to restore toe cap color?

I have this shoe in Walnut. I stupidly tried to clean them without any thought of watching instructions as this is the first pair of nice shoes I have. I must've rubbed to hard on the top where it is slightly darker than the rest of the shoe, and now the dark color is rubbed off in a circular area exposing a lighter color. How can I darken that area again?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Use Allen Edmonds shoe cream and use a soft rag or horse hair shoe dober (sold by Allen Edmonds) and appy generously over the entire shoe. Let the polish dry for several minutes until it becomes a dry dull haze. Then take a horse hair brush and using a brisk motion shine the shoe until it has a bright brilliant finish. You may have to do this several times to get the color consistency back to it’s original condition. If that doesn’t work then try it again leaving the shoe polish on for longer periods of time. The longer you leave the polish on the shoe to dry, the longer it’ll take to get the polish to shine with a horsehair brush. Put a little elbow grease into it when you use your horse hair brush. Repeat as many times as necessary until your shoes look like their original color. This should work. You may also want to use Allen Edmonds leather cream and leave that on your shoes until it’s dried to a dull haze, then repeat the steps above. Good luck and I hope this helps!
