    Care Instructions

STEP 1: Using a damp cloth or sponge, lather our Saddle Soap and apply onto leather to clean and restore its natural oils.

STEP 2: Moisturize the shoes with our Cream Polish to make them supple and soft, following instructions on the product.

STEP 3: Protect your shoes from dirt, rain and snow and enhance the shine and color with our Speed Polish.

STEP 4: Apply our Leather Lotion to protect the heels and edges of your shoes.

*For camo printed leather, simply rub our Leather Lotion onto leather with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp cloth.
    Fit

    Relaxed Fit

The relaxed fit has added space in the toe box. This extra room allows for thicker socks and foot expansion that occurs at the end of the day or during a long flight.

Alpine Derby Shoe with Vibram Arctic Grip Rubber Sole is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good shoe but watch your size. I usually wear a size 10 D in a street shoe, and a 10 1/2 D in an athletic shoe. But the size 10D for the Alpine was too roomy for my right foot, altho the lefty seemed okay. Solution is to try on a 9 1/2 D, now the midfoot is comfortably snug and my feet do not slip around inside the shoe as I walk. I put both the left and right 9 1/2 on a shoe stretcher and that solved my problems completely, that gave me just a skoosh more room in the midfoot which makes the shoe very comfortable. And my toes still have adequate wiggle room. Moral of the story: try 'em on in the store, the size is just a number, wear the shoes that fit you best and don't assume that every size 10 will always work for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have a wide foot. It works. I live in Florida, so this pair was bought with memories of a cheap trip to Paris that featured their biggest snowstorm in years, enough to cause a bit of disruption and wet feet. It's a pair of shoes for winter vacations, with the most sophisticated available sole for wet ice. I wondered about the 2321 last. It turns out to be broad at the front of the foot, giving the shoe a broader look at the toe than nearly all Allen Edmonds dress shoes (Bond Street for example) and a bit more room for heavier socks. The overall length of the shoe is very similar to its more slender-tipped counterparts of the same size. The appearance of the Alpine Weatherproof Derby is simple, doesn't approach the elegance of many of the dress shoes, though the Vibram sole is highly distinctive. I expect it to be an effective walking shoe (my current go-to is Ace).

Can these be recrafted with the Arctic Grip sole?

When the time comes, can these be recrafted with the Arctic Grip sole or must an inferior substitute sole be chosen?
    Asked by: Anonymous
If you decide to recraft this style, the same type sole will be put back on the shoes. -AE Consumer Care Dept.
