STEP 2: Moisturize the shoes with our Cream Polish to make them supple and soft, following instructions on the product.

STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

*For camo printed leather, simply rub our Leather Lotion onto print with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp cloth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Regerts(sic)!!! ;-) Was my first AE purchase: Decided it was finally time to add a quality pair of dress shoes to my wardrobe and went to the local department store. (No local AE store then.) Tried on many different brands which were seemingly made for someone not me. Asked to try on a pair of black Carlyles and they fit as if I were trying on my own shoes. Add to cart! I now own five styles and have already pinned style #6 for purchase. (Western boots and tennis shoes have been retired to the closet.)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor quality Laces I bought my pair online from Nordstrom. One of the laces is broken from one end with out any plastic/ firm end to go into the islet. If I call Nordstrom, they would be ok with sending the pair back. These were brand new shoes, untouched. Allen Edmonds should really inspect their shoes through quality control before sending them out of the factory. I own many pairs of Allen Edmonds but this is a unique and not so good experience.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Quality declining (International Order) Ordered a pair for my job interview, I had faith from all the hype and had it sent internationally to Australia, sadly they came in already with defects, the heel stitching is popping out. After wearing it only once for my job interview, more stitching is busted, the leather lining inside the shoe is peeling out, the leather sole looks like its been used as footy boots for 3 months. Seriously has me questioning the supposed quality that this brand represents, maybe they ship lower quality products to overseas, knowing we are less likely to ask for a refund but otherwise it fits great and feels great while wearing it. Shame

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2 Pairs and Same Bad Experience The first pair I bought were similar in brown and in just 18 months I have had to replace a sole 2x! The last pair arrived last month and when I looked closer there was a gouge out of the toe that has now turned white instead of black. The Black pair is super narrow and not breaking in well.

    Size 9 in Bates

Trying to get this right while overseas. I wear a size 9 E wide in Bates dress shoes and am looking to purchase a pair of Carlyle Plain-toe Oxford. What size do you recommend? Thank you
    Asked by: Michael

What size to get if a 12.5 D Park Avenue?

I have been fairly successful getting folks to comment on this half size issue at the 12.5 space. Except for a couple of casual shoes that I suspect are not under great consistency restraints.
    Asked by: Dapper Dave
Hi Dapper Dave! It's vitally important to visit an Allen Edmonds store or retail partner for a professional fitting to increase your chances of finding a proper fit, as they'll be able to assist you in finding the best fit for this style. If that's not possible, we suggest trying both a 12 and 13 to see which one feels more comfortable. Keep in mind we offer an easy returns policy. What size to get for Carlyle if 10.5D in Park Avenue

I wear 10.5D in Park Avenue and it is a quarter inch long for me and just right on width. For Carlyle, what shoe size should I get? 10.5D, 10.5E or 11D? Am not near an Allen Edmonds store so can't get my foot sized.
    Asked by: Tom
Each style can fit differently based on the contours of your feet, so it’s difficult to recommend a size via email and guarantee a proper fit. If you are unable to visit a store, typically, we suggest trying the same size you usually wear and judging the fit based on how comfortable you feel in the shoes. Keep in mind that products purchased on AllenEdmonds.com may be returned within 90 days, as long as the item is unworn and accompanied by the packing slip, and not customized. Is this shoe black tie appropriate?

I rarely wear black shoes and am looking for a pair to pull double duty for black tie and very conservative occasions such as funerals. I have a pair of Carlyles in brown that I love, but I'm not sure if they are appropriate for wearing with a tuxedo. I'm also looking at the MacLennan plain toe whole cuts, Park Avenue's, Vernon, and Cornwallis.
    Asked by: Anonymous
Although they are not patent leather, which is the traditional (though perhaps outdated) pairing for evening wear, I think the clean look and calfskin leather of the Carlyle set a sophisticated and understated tone fully appropriate for evening wear. I bought these to replace a pair of patent leather shoes I used to wear with my tuxedo.

I noticed in the new style guide that there no longer any other shoes offered in this last.. Is there anything similar to this last available?

    Asked by: Anonymous
The Carlye is on the 108 last, same as the Delray, the Player's 2.0, and the Hale. The closest lasts would be the 222 (Norwich), or perhaps the 65.
