    Care Instructions

STEP 1: Using a damp cloth or sponge, lather our Saddle Soap and apply onto leather to clean and restore its natural oils.

STEP 2: Moisturize the shoes with our Cream Polish to make them supple and soft, following instructions on the product.

STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

*For camo printed leather, simply rub our Leather Lotion onto print with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp cloth.

Fifth Avenue Cap-Toe Oxford with Dainite Rubber Sole is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 321.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice shoe, but VERY narrow Visually it is a very elegant shoe, very classy and formal. Most importantly it was in stock, and returns are very easy. The dainite sole is fantastic for those of us that know we’re just going to destroy leather soled shoes at work. I have to say that my big complaints are in fitment. Just to give an idea, my previous shoe which fit wonderfully, and was not Allen Edmonds was a 12EE. So it seemed logical that that would be a good starting point. I ordered a 12EEE and a 11.5EEE thinking one would probably fit better depending upon if they ran large or small. I have to say that I’m a bit disappointed that the 11.5 and 12 are the same size. I mean dimensionally exactly the same within 1/16 of an inch, so I’m not sure 1/2 sizes mean anything in this shoe. But ok, that’s minor in the end. If I really had the time or patience I’d probably try on an 11 since these seem to run very long, but very narrow. And that’s my single biggest complaint: if you’re a shoe company and you offer a shoe in EEE it should be wide! These are so narrow I almost don’t believe they are, in fact EEEs, but more likely mislabeled Ds... while that’s a bit of hyperbole I’m not impressed with how they seem to make a wide shoe. It seems they use the same outsole, and same very narrow insert, but just add more leather to the outside... which doesn’t support a wide foot well at all, and is very uncomfortable. Again, in all fairness, it’s wide at the beginning of the toe box, which is very comfortable, but so narrow at the arch, it’s very disappointing. All in all I’m pleased with them, especially visually and the ease of purchasing them, but I wish there was greater variance between sizes, that the EEE was wider at the arch, and the insert was more comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first Allen Edmonds but not my last I bought these while on sale so that enhanced my value rating. I went to one of their retail stores to get the right fit and I am glad I did. I opted for the Dainite soles because I am in outside sales which means all kinds of weather. They did not have my size in stock but ordered them and in a few weeks they shipped directly to my home. So I felt they were custom made for me. The shoes have an understated elegance to them. They’re not flashy but the quality shows. Break in was practically nothing as they felt great right out of the box. They are not my everyday shoe but usually two times a week. American made quality that will last me the rest of my career. That’s what I was looking for and Allen Edmonds delivered.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dainite is the worst. Walk on any smooth surface in these shoes with wet Dainite soles and you'll risk breaking your neck. Never experienced anything like it with any other shoes! Unbelievably slippery. These soles are thick, hard, with no shock absorption properties. And the crampon-like things have no place on dress shoes and serve no purpose other that to make these soles even uglier. Whoever designed these shoes should be made to wear them every day. Other than the ridiculous Dainite soles, these 5th Ave come with the usual AE quality control issues: sloppy welt work, sloppy lining work, blotchy color on non-black shoes. On my dark brown pair, my dress pants are rubbing off the paint off the heel counters and backstay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the style and ox blood color, the navy I previously purchased is great too. Now, the best fitting AE last for my older and wider feet. The sole wears very well and for me is now easier all day for my feet than leather.

Hi. I have a 25 cm long foot, what size do you recommend 7 or 7.5

Some manufacturers have different range of measurement. Thank you.
    Asked by: SergioP
We apologize, we're unable to recommend sizes via this channel and guarantee a proper fit. Allen Edmonds shoes are true-to-size as they are designed based on the standards of the Brannock device. If you are between sizes you may need to try both to see which one you feel most comfortable in. Keep in mind, if the size you select doesn't work out, we offer a 90-day returns policy. Are these good for someone who is on their feet all day and walking?

I put in about 20k steps a day at work on hard floors. Not on any carpet. Will these last and how is the support for my feet and knees?
    Asked by: Rbah1075
The Dainite rubber sole is considered to be one of our most durable soles due to being a dense rubber material. Keep in mind also, we offer Recrafting service and when the time comes, you can have the shoes resoled. You can learn more about it here: https://www.allenedmonds.com/discover/our-story/recrafting.html We hope you are able to try on the shoes at one of our retail locations to see if you like the support.
