    Care Instructions

STEP 1: Using a damp cloth or sponge, lather saddle soap and apply onto leather to clean and restore its natural oils.

STEP 2: Moisturize the shoes with cream polish to make them supple and soft, following instructions on the product.

STEP 3: Next condition the shoes with speed polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take the heel dressing applicator and press against the edge of the heels and soles.

STEP 5: Apply leather lotion as needed for added protection and polish between cleaning.

    Fit

    Relaxed Fit

The relaxed fit has added space in the toe box. This extra room allows for thicker socks and foot expansion that occurs at the end of the day or during a long flight.

Greene Street Wingtip Blucher is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware: Premium European calfskin leather On 09/09/2020 I purchased my first pair of AE Greene Street Wingtip Blucher in Mahogany & Nomad Wingtips in Coffee. I was excited and had high expectations based off various reviews on YouTube. Key words: excited & expectations. Delivery is EXCELLENT! I received both pairs on 09/12/2020 AMAZING! So, I open the box containing the Greene Street Wingtip Blucher and I can’t help but notice that the leather looks fake. It really looks and feels like plastic. It does not feel like leather at all. I applied some pressure from my thumb and released on the toe cap and it pops back and sounded like a similar plastic material would. Very Strange. In comparison to my Nomad Wingtips there was no question about the leather (Premium French calfskin leather upper) per AE. Upon closer inspection of the Greene Street AE states it’s a Premium European calfskin leather. Not sure what to make of it, I’m not satisfied with this product and decided on taking a drive from Indiana to the AE downtown Chicago location and return both pairs on my day off. For the money it is absolutely not worth it in my opinion. Unfortunately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Blucher style shoe from AE Unlike the guy ranting and raving about corrected grain Leather, I actually did my research and understand which color code means corrected grain. I also carefully inspect my shoes upon delivery to check for anything that would warrant a return or replacement. With that out of the way, I really enjoy these shoes. Mine look great, wear very well and are EXTREMELY comfortable right out of the box. The 64 last is excellent. Stylish like a 65 but more roomy in the forefoot/toe area. I also enjoy the leather/rubber combination sole as well. Plus, since these bare still Goodyear welted shoes, If I want bee soles..... I can get new ones installed anywhere. Overall, a great buy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Techno Horse Leather AKA Bookbinder AKA Acrylic lacquer coated leather BE VERY CAREFUL ON THESE!!! They offer two versions at the moment (Coffee Calfskin, Black Calfskin) that are actually uncorrected leather. I got the Mahogany ones as a factory second and was surprised how awesome they looked and felt, until... I started trying to polish them. Renovateur put a sheen on them, but it never really penetrated. Saphir creme didn't really want to apply correctly, floating on the surface instead of absorbing. I could get a mirror polish with Pate de Luxe but it didn't look right as I couldn't detect the grain being filled by the wax. So, I figured it must be something with the factory finish. Got some stripper and tried to remove it so I could build up a proper shine. Nothing happened. They got dull looking but almost no wax or polish came off other than what I had previously put on. Also I noticed that in some areas the leather looked 'raw' while other areas still shone with a false finish. Finally I decided to use a bit of dye to patina them and just polish them back up. That is when it went from bad to ultra horrible. The dye insta freeze dried flat, no absorbtion except in the raw areas. I decided something had to be seriously messed up so I did some research. The models that say Premium European Leather, but do not have CALFSKIN in the color description are made of some new version of Bookbinder that is called Techno Horse Leather. It basically is some grade of leather that has a lacquer applied to simulate the characteristics shell cordovan. This would have been amazing to know, because I wouldn't have paid for them even as factory seconds. Allen Edmonds, you need to make the description MUCH clearer on these, because now I feel I have to scan every single detail to make sure you aren't trying to slip something by me. I have paperweights now that I bought product for that wouldn't work them, and I am going to have to try to salvage them by going full black. Either that or sell the one that isn't destroyed on Ebay as a prosthetic shoe. EXTREMELY UNSATISFIED!

What is the difference between 2660 regular black calf skin leather and 8824 European leather?

    Asked by: Thinh
There is not a big difference in the leather. Both style numbers are made from premium European leather. The black calf skin version does not have as much of a shine as the regular black style.

What is the difference between the 2660 Black Calfskin Leather, and the 8824 Black? Is it different types of leather?

    Asked by: Anonymous
I got the mahogany version and it's made of corrected, plastic-like calfskin called "techno horse" that I disliked immediately. It shows no grain and is meant to mimic cordovan, but looks cheap to my eyes.

    What is sole material?

I have long, narrow feet (11.5 B for AE shoes) and can't wear hard soles for much more than 1 hour. Therefore, soft soles - Vibram, etc. - are mandatory.
    Asked by: AKFisher
These are softer than the single oaks and double oaks because of the insert and they have some padding in them the others don't. You might want to give them a try. they will not be as soft as the Vibrams but they look a lot better..
