    Care Instructions

STEP 1: Using a damp cloth or sponge, lather our Saddle Soap and apply onto leather to clean and restore its natural oils.

STEP 2: Moisturize the shoes with our Cream Polish to make them supple and soft, following instructions on the product.

STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

*For camo printed leather, simply rub our Leather Lotion onto print with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp cloth.

Mackenna Plain-Toe Blucher with Dainite Sole is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great price, poor quality. Just piling on to the other comments. Got this on an amazing sale, third pair of Allen Edmonds. Size 13-E, fits uncomfortably tighter than every other pair, right out of the box. Each shoe seems to have been made with a different piece of leather. It looks like an unmatched pair, very apparent. One is deeply grained, the other almost smooth. I will return, but disappointed that by the time I received it, others are probably sold out and I'll have missed the sale!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Two pairs, two defects Received the first pair and the left / right side eyelids were not aligned. So as you laced them up, the lace was at an angle. When I showed them to my wife without pointing out the defect, she immediately noticed the defect. Had I bought the shoes at DSW, I may had let it slid. Received the second pair and the upper leather one the left side was a different type of leather than the rest of the shoe. Again, easily noticeable to the naked eye. How is it possible these type of defects make it out of the factory?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dainite practicality My feet have grown wider (the Allen Edmonds store measurement is 10.5 EEE) and are having problems (upcoming surgery for a recurrent toe cyst and maybe future work on a bone spur), so I've been replacing shoes and reconfiguring with fewer but better. I discovered that the Dainite soles on a few Allen Edmonds shoes are what I've been wearing for years on a pair of sturdy English shoes that are now a bit tight. The soles have performed well. So I've now two pairs of Mackennas in different colors with Dainite soles. Based on early wearing, I expect them to be good for extended walking and suitable for urban sightseeing rather than sneakers. That means somewhat less use of deck shoes and sneakers in the resort town where I live.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great looking shoe with too many quality control issues. I had to send this shoe back twice. I ordered the first pair in the same size and width I have ordered for over 25 years. However, the shoes turned out to be too large. I sent the first pair back and ordered a second pair in a half size smaller. The second pair was too tight around my toe box and included too much cork in the foot bed of the left shoe. I tried to wear them for a day but they made my feet hurt. I like the look of these shoes very much and wanted them to work. I ended up sending the second pair back and bought a pair of Chelsea boots. Please fix the quality control issues. I am simply seeing too many complaints.

Where are the shoes actually made?

The product page lists the shoes as being made in Port Washington, WI, but I received a black pair and a cognac pair this week and both of them have "Made in Dominican Republic" stamped on the tongue. I think it's an important distinction when finding "Made in America" shoes is a part of the purchasing decision making process.

My two pairs, black and cognac, recently arrived, are marked "made in Dominican Republic" on the tongue. The product page now says "Dominican Republic."

If you choose the Dainite sole, what happens when the heel &/or sole wear down & need replacing? Leather is quick & easy with my cobbler.

    Asked by: Don
I had a pair of Tates with soft sole recrafted by Allen Edmonds and they went to the Dainite sole. It was no problem for them and they look like they were made that way from the beginning. So I don’t think that working with the sole would be an issue.. If you prefer to have your own cobbler do the re-sole in the future, it looks to me like it would be straight forward. The stitching on both the welt and sole are easy to get at.
