Nomad Suede Plain-toe Derby is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from I love these shoes as long as they are sitting in the shelf. Once they're on my feet, the love affair is over. I've only had them a few weeks, and only worn them twice. The first wearing I figured we'd need time to get used to one another. They fit fine. It's just that they are the hardest shoes I have ever walked in, which I find almost unimaginable in a rubber soled shoe. In the first wearing I thought perhaps the uncomfortable/painful experience I was having was due to the added and removable innersole. I took it out the second wearing, and that may be why I only lasted a few hours with them on my feet. How can a rubber-soled shoe be so hard and uncomfortable? There is absolutely no "give" to the sole, and I find myself "slapping around, announcing my arrival long before I'm on the scene. I got them at the sale price, which is the only comfort I find in this whole matter. Because they fit so well, I tried to get another pair in navy, but the sale was over and they were back to $345. If I had paid that for this shoe which I so want to love and have in all 3 colors, I would have been really annoyed. Once again it's proven: looks aren't everything.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from EEE? I've been buying AE shoes for decades in the same size. These were 8.5 EEE. I literally could not get my feet into them. Not just narrow for a 3E fitment, but the toe box appeared made for someone missing at least 3 toes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for wide feet I bought a pair in 8.5 EEE and literally could not get the shoe on my foot as they were far too narrow. I've been a AE customer for over 30 years and never had this problem before. Luckily, they fit my son (he usually wears a D) who told me they fit his much narrower feet perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shoe, but... This is a beautiful shoe, just wish it came in a chukka style.

What is the 42N last? I see only a 42 last listed.

    Asked by: Anonymous
Hello, The 42N last is similar to the 42 last. However, it is a little bit more room than the 42 last. We hope this helps!

    Surrey versus Nomad suede shoes

What is the difference, other than the soles, between the Nomad and Surrey suede shoes
    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for reaching out to us. While the Nomad Suede Plain-toe Derby and the Surrey Derby Shoe are similar, they are also very different shoes. The Nomad Suede Plain-toe Derby is made on the 42N last, has a removable LightForm™ Insole with perforated footbed (perfect for those who use orthotics), and has a Feather Welt™ for lightweight shock-absorption. The Surrey Derby Shoe is made on the 1757 last, is weatherproof with a non removable sole, and is made with a 360-degree Goodyear Welted construction. We hope this is helpful!

I wear UK size 9.5. What’s the equivalent in American sizing?

    Asked by: Suave57
The UK/US size is listed as 9.5/10, but I found that these shoes run small. I had to get a US 10.5 when I normally wear a 9.5 to 10.

How is this shoe different from the previous Nomad suede derby? Is it using the same C.F. Stead Suede Upper?

    Asked by: Anonymous
We have had quite a few different versions of the Nomad, so we apologize we are unsure which you are referring to. In general, when discontinued styles are reintroduced, the main differences are the colors offered or possibly the type of sole featured which are redesigned based on current trends or customer feedback. The suede used on this style is not from C.F. Stead. Feel free to contact us again if your have other questions.
