Reviews
Leather Lotion is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from works well Works well for my AE's that have contrast stitching which prevent use of regular shoe polish. The lotion keeps the leather soft and helps smooth out any scuffs. simple to apply. Don't hesitate to buy if you need leather lotion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indespensible for proper shoe care I use this on my AE shoes and dress boots and it does a fantastic job. I recently applied it along with polish on a 10 year old pair of waterproof chukkas, which I was about to dispose, of, and it brought them back to life. Very pleasant surprise.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Leather Lotion is Easy and Effective I like the Leather Lotion for its wide application to many of my leather shoes. I put drops in my hands and massage it into my shoes, burnishing the leather without staining it.

Ask & Answer

Should I use leather lotion on my Normandy Boots? Also, will it help with squeaking?

I've noticed a little squeaking when walking with my new boots? I know they are still in the break in process but I wanted to see if these would help. Brown Normandy Kudu leather. 2 weeks old.
Asked by: Finn215
You can use Leather Lotion on Kudu leather. Squeaking sometimes occurs on new shoes because Allen Edmonds uses authentic leathers. When two pieces of new leather rub against each other, such as the leather lining, upper leather and/or tongue leathers, a slight squeaking may occur.  The fix is usually quite simple; general wear will eliminate the noise or you can apply leather lotion as a lubricant.   Importantly, if you have any further concerns or needs please contact our customer service team directly at eservice@allenedmonds.com or 1-877-817-7615.

Is this suitable for matte greased leather?

I have Paraboot Avignon shoes, which are greased leather and have a semi-matte black finish. I'm looking for a product that will nourish the leather and perhaps protect it, but won't add shine. Is this product any good for my purpose?
Asked by: Maarten

Will this product add shine to leather?

Will this product add any shine to leather after use? specifically to horween chromexcel leather. If not, what product would be appropriate to add shine to the Higgins mill boot in the brown color?
Asked by: Caleb
We use the lotion on our Chukka boots which are chromexcel leather and it seems to help treat / keep the leather healthier since it cannot be polished.

I have a pair of TAN Strandmoks that are discolored (blackened in large areas). What product(s) shall I use to treat, clean & condition them?

Asked by: Sam
While the Tan Leather it is not a suede or nubuck material, we recommend treating it with the same care as one would exercise for a suede or nubuck shoe. We recommend using the Suede Cleaning kit to clean them and the 'Spray Waterproofer' to protect from stains. It's typically not advised to condition this type of leather as it can darken the shoes. You can condition the inside lining of the shoe with leather lotion to keep it moisturized. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

How often should I use leather lotion?

Should I use this every time I polish my shoes? Is once a month too much?
Asked by: Chancey
You can use Leather Lotion as needed to moisturize the leather and prevent it from drying. You don't have to use it every time you polish the shoes, but even if you do it will not negatively affect the leather in any way. It ultimately depends on how often you wear the shoes, the conditions they've been exposed to, as well as local climate. Monthly application is perfectly acceptable. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

Lotion for Fifth Ave Walnut

I have Fifth Aves in Walnut along with the shoe polish. Should I put lotion on before I polish it?
Asked by: Chancey
That's exactly what I do with all my AE calfskin leather shoes. After I put the lotion on shoes, I let them dry and then brush really well. I follow with the appropriate AE polish and then brush followed by buffing to desired shine- it has worked like a champ for me for over 10 years.

Lotion for calf?

I read faq but saw mixed answers. Some said this lotion is for causal shoes instead of dress shoes; but some said it is fine for dress shoes as well. So Can I use this lotion on burnished calf shoes like burnished dark chili Lasalle? Thank,
Asked by: Goldy
Yes, you can use Leather Lotion on burnished calf styles including Dark Chili. We apologize for the confusion with previous recommendations. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
