Rated 5 out of 5 by from Puts the color back in If you wear your shoes, you're going to get scuffs and bumps on the leather. This cream does an excellent job of putting the color back in leather and covering up any scuffs or scratches. It also does a good job of conditioning the leather. Note that color of your shoe will not exactly match the cream. This is not a concern with Black, but for my walnuts - the light brown cream was a shade darker. I don't mind this but if you are OCD about exact shade matching - this could be an issue.

What product shall I use to cover over a scratch on the leather?

Asked by: Leonard
The Brown Strandmok was designed with a unique 'brush-off' finish that reveals the gold tone color underneath with normal wear. This type of finish will "brush off" and it is 100% intentional. Regular polish will not cover these marks and if used it will not match the finish. The finish will permanently be removed in the areas for a casual, vintage look. The Leather Lotion is recommended to keep the leather moisturized. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

Which shoe cream would be the best color match for Higgins Mill boots in brown ?

I want to ensure I can keep my boots looking sharp and want to have the best color match possible if cream or polish is what would be recommended for the Higgins Mill boots.
Asked by: Reece
Shoe Polish or Shoe Cream are not recommended on this type of leather as it will not be effective. Chromexcel is heavily infused with oils and it's known to be "self-polishing". The appearance of most scuffs can be minimized by rubbing the leather with your fingers as the warmth helps redistribute the oils back into those areas. You may apply Leather Lotion with a soft cloth. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

Should I use shoe polish or shoe cream on my shoes

Asked by: Anonymous
I used both. The cream first, which moisturizes and conditions the leather. Then I used the polish which protects the leather and brings it to a really nice shine.

I have several pairs of shoes in chili, dark chili, and oxblood. The Premium shoe polish is not enough to get rid of scuff marks on these shoes.

How is it that AE does not offer shoe cream in these colors? I don't see much option other than to obtain a cream from another manufacturer to match colors as best as possible
Asked by: EHLin
At this time, we do not offer shoe cream in those colors. Please know we value your feedback and it will be forwarded to the appropriate department for review. In the meantime, careful polishing with burgundy or brown shoe cream may help minimize the scuffing, but we recommend being very careful to apply it only to the scuff. Alternately, we offer a Refinishing package through our Recrafting services. If there's anything else we can help with, please call us at 877.817.7615.

Product compatibility and ingredients.

Does your product contain natural oils that are compatible with the natural oils of calfskin and other common leathers (tallow, mink oil etc..)? Or are they vegetable based? What about any solvents or petroleum based oils?
Asked by: rand77
Our products are all natural. They are Carnauba based polishes and creams. There are no petroleum or alcohol bases in our care products. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

Would the light brown shoe cream be appropriate on the brown badlands shoe?

Asked by: Anonymous
We do not offer an exact matching polish or cream for the outland leather used on the Badlands. We typically suggest a medium brown polish like walnut, but it's not an exact match. The Shoe Cream is highly pigmented, so you may try a combination of the Light Brown and the Dark Brown to get your desired results. As always, we recommend trying on an inconspicuous area of the shoes to make sure you like the results Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
