Cornwallis Dress Oxford is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 239.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even better than advertised Excellent quality and construction as expected, but more comfortable and stylish than expected. Great shoe true to size, works for both formal and dress down occasions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek, Stylish & Comfortable This is my second pair of AE shoes - my first true dress pair - and they do not disappoint. They are more compact than some of AE’s other styles, fitting very snugly but still comfortable enough to wear for 8-10 hours right out of the box. I haven’t worn them with dress jeans for now- only professional attire thus far - but am excited to juxtapose their understated, yet elegant profile with a more casually styled outfit. They are versatile enough to easily pull off that double duty.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Shoe I purchased a new pair of shoes from Allen Edmonds. I have a couple pairs already, and I have to say that they are very quality shoes. One thing I do not understand though, if a person would spend 400+ dollars on a pair of shoes, I would really think it would be great if they come with a shoe horn. I have one or two shoe horns already from Allen Edmonds from their factory in Wisconsin, but I think it would be great to ship one with a new pair of shoes ordered online, especially when they cost a lot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality and construction I’m was very disappointed in the quality of the shoes. The leather near the soles were not smooth. Return over a month ago and have not received a refund or replacement.

I have the dark chili cornwallis and they look great. after the first few days of wearing them, you can see some scuffs on the side. i polished them however, the polish didnt cover the scuffs. how do you recommend i treat the scuffs?
    Asked by: Chris
If you're unable to minimize the appearance of the scuffs with Premium Shoe Polish, we recommend visiting an Allen Edmonds store to see if a store associate can apply the polish for you and advise the best way to minimize the scuffs. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

How do i care for my Chili Cornwallis?

Hi, I purchased the Chili Cornwallis Oxford and have reviewed the recommended care and the related video on the site however, they seem to recommend a few products. My goal is to keep the shoes looking as great as possible, maximize the health, and remove the daily scuffs. Can you please advise which product(s) to use to care for them? Thanks!
    Asked by: Chris
We recommend following the instructions on our 'Caring for Calfskin' video. The shoe care products we recommend for calfskin dress styles are Leather Lotion, Dark Chili Premium Shoe Polish, a soft cloth, a horsehair shine brush, Chili Heel & Sole Edge Dressing, and full-toe cedar shoe trees. https://www.allenedmonds.com/discover/shoes-101/shoe-care.html Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

Which heel and edge dressing are recommended for the Cornwallis line of shoes?

    Asked by: Anonymous
We recommend applying the color that matches the color of the sole edge. The Black and Navy Cornwallis have a black edge, so we recommend the black dressing. The Brown Cornwallis has brown edge, so we recommend the brown dressing. For the Dark Chili Cornwallis would be the chili dressing. Finally, the Walnut Cornwallis has a light brown edge so you can use the neutral dressing. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

    Navy Blue

The navy blue color is rather dark. Do the shoes lighten up as I wear them? Assuming using neutral polish.
    Asked by: Anonymous
The leather color is determined during the tanning process and enhanced with finishing. Leather may naturally slightly darken or lighten overtime with normal wear, local climate or weather conditions, or light exposure, but the navy color itself does not wear off. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

    Counters on the Cornwallis

Are the counters a different shape or material on the Cornwallis? I have noticed that these areas of this shoe are not quite as stiff as other AE shoes I own. This is my first AE oxford/Blucher shoe without a cap or wing design. This shoe exhibits a secondary break closer to the toe than my other AE shoes. Is this a function of the newer design and chiseled toe? Or is this just a leather shoe acting like a leather shoe? I am very pleased with this shoe.
    Asked by: Shoe nut
The Cornwallis is a Balmoral dress shoe. The last a shoe is constructed will be the main factor in determining how a style fits you, so if you like the fit at the heel counter it's possible it is because it complements the shape of your heel. Also, the pattern of the shoe as well as the contours of the foot will cause a shoe to flex in different areas. If you like the comfort of the Cornwallis, we suggest trying other styles made on the same 1943 last as they will have a similar fit. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
