STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

*For camo printed leather, simply rub our Leather Lotion onto print with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp cloth.

Umbria Plain-Toe Monk Strap is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shoe pleasing to the eyes but surprisingly narrow for a wide shoe. Shoe too narrow for a 3w and I also have that same shoe in another color and it wears well.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fan of AE shoes, but not these I have owned many pairs of AE shoes over the years and always been a fan, but I have attempted to like this pair for months and just cannot get there. I was hoping for a modern version of the Norwich Monkstrap which are one of my all time faves that I still cannot part with, but the Umbria is no replacement in my opinion. If you place the Umbria heel flat on the floor the entire rest of the shoe is elevated 1/2" to 1" off the floor. That heel also makes for an odd feeling when walking and has only mildly improved over time as the shoe wears in. Also, if you happen to stretch your legs out and cross your feet, the buckle digs into the leather of the resting shoe and scars it. Comfortable certainly and I like the look, but overall this will be the very first pair that I get rid of before re-crafting and/or wearing them out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I miss my American style norwhich monkstraps My dog destroyed one of my norwhich monkstraps-they were on their first soles! Generally, I can resole AE shoes a solid 3-5 times. I bought some factory second Umbria’s because I was looking for a more American, round toed monk strap. The Umbria’s look good, have a seeed on, not glued sole. But they feel significantly “cheaper in quality” when compared to my old monk straps. Thinner(calve?) leather, thinner soles, kinda cheap buckles. I’d say the thinner soles are more a European thing. All in all, a decent pair of monkstraps, but not exactly what I was looking for: an understated, high quality traditional monkstrap. I will saythey are very comfortable and flexible, esp with the thinner soles. But just not quite what I was looking for. I’ll absolutely hang on to them, but I do miss what they’ve replaced. Bad dog.

    What last?

What last is this made on?
    Asked by: Anonymous
The Italian Collection is not constructed on our traditional lasts as it's made in Italy using the Bologna Construction. This style has the sleek profile of Italian shoe but with the comfort that comes from the more generous American style toe box. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions!
