STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and press against the edge of the heels and soles.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cost per wear very high I will start by saying that my grandfather owned a pair of Allen Edmonds oxfords, I have them now and 40 years later they are still fantastic. I had such high hopes for these shoes. It was my intention to use these as my every day wear as five years of solid use had worn through my previous shoes. The problem is that they are supposedly only meant to be worn once a week according to a store clerk I just spoke too. After 4.5 months of every other day or so use, the sole separated from the base and a rather large hole in the sole started to appear. It's not as though I was running marathons either, just walking around, almost entirely indoors or sidewalks. Now I'm faced with either cutting bait, or paying $120 for a resole after less than 5 months. Truly sad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shoes and Great Customer Service I had to retire my Cavanaugh loafers that were 20 years and two soles old. I ordered a slightly larger size online since I had aged as well. The shoes arrived but my size guess was wrong. Went to the retail store at Edina Galleria. No hassle return, correct sizing, and replacement ordered to be delivered to my home. AE does it right!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic fit, but you need to break them in. Excellent quality shoe. However, understand that you MUST consistently wear these shoes to break them in. They will stretch, but you must be patient (20 plus wears). I have a wide foot and I am sized as a D width. Initially, these will be tight and narrow but the leather is quality and will eventually stretch, especially in the toe box. I have been wearing a 12 D consistently with AE products, and these are no different. Also, these may squeak until they have been broken in, this is normal for quality leather shoes. They look fantastic and I have gotten compliments since I bought them. Overall, very satisfied and you will be too if you allow them to break in and form to your foot.

Does the fit run on the small side? I usually wear a size 12 D and was wondering if I should order a 12 1/2

    Asked by: Golfct
At Allen Edmonds, we believe the right fit is vitally important. We recommend a professional fitting by an Allen Edmonds associate at your nearest retail location or an authorized Allen Edmonds dealer. Find a store near you: https://www.allenedmonds.com/stores If that's not possible, we suggest trying the size you usually wear and judging the fit based on how comfortable you feel in the shoes. Confused about country of manufacture

The website for Cavanaugh says "handcrafted in the DR;" the shoes I purchased read "handcrafted in the USA of fine imported leather" embossed on the footpad. I understand AE has a factory in DR and some shoes have final assembly in WI, USA. I like the shoes but wish AE were straightforward about its manufacturing. Especially in this age of jingoism...
    Asked by: Kbrift
The production of the Cavanaugh was moved to the DR several months ago. You most likely received a pair from a previous batch that was handcrafted in our Port Washington factory. We apologize for the confusion. Thank you for your question!

    Quality

Hello, I live in the Dominican Republic but purchase all my shoes from AE and have them sent to my home in the US. My question is the following; do you consider the quality of shoes made in the DR on par with the shoes made in the US? There is a significant difference in price, obviously due to production cost. I have never purchased any of your shoes made down here on the island, and do not want to be disappointed when I arrive in US to get them.
    Asked by: MAV
The 'ae by Allen Edmonds' collection is made in the Dominican Republic using the same quality materials and manufacturing that we do right here in Wisconsin. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
