Verona II Italian Loafer is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 113.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Construction - Break in time I am a big fan of bit loafers and wanted to graduated from the Cole Hann option. These were perfect and remind me of the original Gucci. I will say it took forever for these to break in to the point of being comfortable and are still a little snug to get off and on, can't really wear socks unless I got a larger size but then it would've been too long.. Over all I am pleased with the shoe and would recommend anyone looking at it to pull the trigger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bit Loafer I’ve been wearing this shoe (brown and black) for 10+ years. They’re made incredible well, comfortable from day 1, and look fantastic. They run a bit narrow, but I have thin feet so they’re a perfect fit. I sincerely hope AE continues to make them for as long as I’m alive. I wear them 5 days a week and don’t plan to ever change. Incredible shoe!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thin-Soled Italian Shoe Is Full Size Too Small Erm...this shoe does not merely run a tad small, but a *full size* too small. Preposterously not at all the size indicated. Purchased as a gift, the happy occasion suddenly became the ugly stepsister trying to put on a shoe that would never, ever fit. Yer the experts, Allen Edmonds. You should’ve done better. Returned. That being said, the shoe is nonetheless handsome and well crafted. If only it could be worn as ordered. Sheesh.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tight Order a size larger. They are not “true to size.” I’m very disappointed. These are my first pair of nice loafers. They came slightly tight and I wore them thinking they’d stretch out, but it’s been weeks wearing them three days a week and they’re still uncomfortable. I also put shoe trees in them to stretch them when I’m not wearing them. But it hasn’t worked. The sole also has worn very quickly. Not worth the money, which to me was a lot. I’m disappointed.

What size to order if you are normally an E width in AE shoes?

I wear a 10.5E in all my AE shoes. I have had a hard time finding a dress bit loafer in a wide size. I have seen reviews saying this shoe runs long and wide. I am thinking a 10 or 10EEE. Any thoughts?
    Asked by: James
Hello, Thank you for your inquiry! We recommend trying the EEE width because the D width might be to narrow. -AE Consumer Care Dept.

Why isn't this shoe available in A width?

Most of your great casual loafers are only available inn B, D, or EEE widths. The Grayson, a dress loafer, is about the only loafer available on A widths. There is a market for A width shoes.

Thank you so much for your interest in Allen Edmonds shoes! We would like to assure you that we do our utmost to offer a variety of sizes and widths. However, we are often compelled to provide traditional shoe sizes due to their consistent performance. We'd be happy to forward your recommendation to management to be able to offer a greater selection in the future.

Does this loafer in a D even come close to fitting a B or C foot?

    Asked by: The King
Well, the "D" size shoe is much narrower than a normal AE shoe, and I think it could be an excellent fit for a narrower foot. In my opinion, the Italian shoes are made to stretch, fit your foot more in line with a soccer cleat (they call them boots), and these are supposed to fit like slippers. The AE shoe is made with a "better" leather, and I think wearing them more often than I do will break them in, as well.

    Size differences by color?

I bought a brown and black pair of Verona II loafers. I notice size/fit differences between the two. The brown pair fit great right out of the box and the black pair is painful to wear. Both are 13 Ds.
    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your inquiry! You'll find our shoes are true-to-size based on the Brannock Device. The length from the heel to the ball of the foot is the same for all lasts in the same size. With that being said, the shape of the toe or depth of the shoes may affect how a shoe fits or feels. If you need to exchange your shoes, please do so at any Allen Edmonds store. If you bought them online, you may also mail them back within our 90 day return policy. Please reorder at your earliest convenience since we only process refunds. We hope this information helps!

The old prior website use to say the Verona 2 were "RECRAFTABLE". Now with the new website, the Verona 2 are NOT recraftable anymore? What changed?

I was considering adding another color to my collection. I purchased a pair during summer of 2016 and i remembered your website then, stated it was recraftable. Even the sales associate told me it was recrafable when i purchased it. Fast foward to 2019 and your Q & A states that its not recraftable? What was the difference then and now?

    Are Verona II recraftable?

I have seen different answers to this question so I would like to confirm: Are these loafers recraftable? Also, can you add double leather or butyl leather soles?
    Asked by: RMB89
Thank you for your interest in the Verona II style. Unfortunately this particular style, as with other Italian and Dominican constructed products, is not recraftable. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause.
