Fifth Avenue Cap-toe Oxford is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 871.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice shoes. I own several pair of Allen Edmonds shoes. Well made quality shoes for a fair price. Easy to polish and care for. The only complaint if you can call it one is they need to add more colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good looking shoes built with AE craftsmanship I have a pair of glack Park Avenues, which are nice looking shoes but also very comfortable. So when the time came for a new pair of brown shoes, I opted for the Fifth Avenue. Same good fit, and the toe cap design looks nice on the brown shoe. Same good fit as the Park Avenues. Have only worn them a few times, but they seem to break in quickly. And like all my AE shoes, they are constructed with quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe The Fifth Avenue Cap Toe Oxford is a great shoe. There are tons of size choices, and once you get the size right, the shoe is very comfortable. The size runs a little long and narrow. I had to go down a half size in length and up two sizes in width...of course it may not be the same experience for other people. Customer service was exceptional. Highly recommend the shoe and company.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Oxblood looks Brown - Very Disappointied I purchased a pair of Fifth Avenue's in Oxblood, and was very disappointed when I received them. The color looked brown instead of Oxblood. I have two other pairs of AE in Oxblood and the Fifth Avenue's did look anywhere near as nice. I attempted to exchanged them in a AE store thinking there was something wrong with my pair. I was told that the Oxblood on the Fifth Avenue's had recently changed and there were several customer complaints. Hoping this is corrected soon.

What length replacement laces should I use for 5th Ave?

    Asked by: YS
I recently had to replace the laces in a pair of Park Avenues, and 30 inch laces worked perfectly. Since the Fifth Avenue is so similar (I have a pair of those also) to the Park Avenue, 30 inch laces should work.

    Are the insoles removable?

    Asked by: John
No the cork doesn’t come out. It can be replaced but usually during a reconditioning the AE shop.

What color do you recommend to pair with a navy suit for law firm interviews?

The brown looks extremely dark but the walnut looks too light to be formal. Is the dark chili a good choice for in between? Or does it have a reddish tint?
    Asked by: LAWFIRM
For a Law firm interview, I would probably go with the black. But, I recently purchased the Midnight Blue shade and It would also be fantastic.

is the upper leather soft as the AE Sanford I purchased many years ago?

    Asked by: JC
It is a soft leather, yes. As soft as the what you purchased many years ago is hard to tell for various reasons. However the company does a great job at purchasing leathers that are very consistent year in and year out. The leather on these are soft but not glove leather soft. It is a durable but supple leather that will ultimately gain a amazing patina overtime. Hope this helps.

I used brown and it looks good, I don't know if they have chili but if they do I'm sure it will look fine as well.

    Fifth Avenue leather finish

In online photos the Fifth Avenue in black seems to have a very polished finish while the Park Avenue in black seems to be more supple and show the leather grain. Is that a design difference between the two styles or is my perception of the online photos incorrectly drawing this distinction?
    Asked by: resoler
I submit that both have thier own leather character; the 5th does have a bit more shine straight out of the box; than the Park does. However, the suppleness and character of the [light] leather grain in the "Park" give it an extremely distinguished appearance. I posit that you are correct in your observation.
