Fifth Avenue Cap-toe Oxford is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 812.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Alllen Edmonds - There is nothing better in a business shoe The Fifth Avenue is as classic of a shoe as you can get. There are many good shoes out there that are made overseas but this American standard screams class and comfort. I came to the point where cheaper shoes fit at the common D width but with Allen Edmonds stiffer style, you may need a larger width size. Whatever the case, once you get your size, these leather wheels are everything you want in a quality shoe. The quality is noticeable to fashion conscious individuals and these shoes are simply worth the price. You get what you pay for with Allen Edmonds.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The color doesn't match the picture. Otherwise a great shoe. I chose the oxblood because in the picture they did not look substantially different from the merlot, which I have several pair of but the color is now discontinued. Other than the disappointing color, the shoes are exceptional, and the fit is perfect, as expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AE Delivers Again This is my 7th pair of Allen Edmonds I’ve purchased over the last 5 years. The quality is consistent to what it was 5 years ago when I bought my first pair. These are the best value in quality, professional shoes that carry over perfectly from the office to the bar. These certainly won’t be my last pair from AE.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from AE seems to have a problem with the sole trim and stitch & finish. Maybe it is just me..BUT if you are suggesting your product is worth $250-350 then I expect that it should look like $250 bucks. The last several pair of 5th Ave I have purchased I sent back and the second try isn't a lot better. The uppers look fine but the sole trim is terrible IMHO. The sole stitching is on the sole so one will walk the stitching off in short order. I own a dozen pare of AE shoes and the first pair of walnut Strand were awesome but I think quality is lacking in the last several years and you are giving JM and Mezlan an opportunity to compete. I like buying US made product and I don't mind paying the higher price when I perceive it is worth it. Maybe it is just email ordered product I don't know but when I have the opportunity I will visit the store in Oak Brook IL and see it you sell the same product off the shelf.

What color do you recommend to pair with a navy suit for law firm interviews?

The brown looks extremely dark but the walnut looks too light to be formal. Is the dark chili a good choice for in between? Or does it have a reddish tint?
    Asked by: LAWFIRM
For a Law firm interview, I would probably go with the black. But, I recently purchased the Midnight Blue shade and It would also be fantastic.

is the upper leather soft as the AE Sanford I purchased many years ago?

    Asked by: JC
It is a soft leather, yes. As soft as the what you purchased many years ago is hard to tell for various reasons. However the company does a great job at purchasing leathers that are very consistent year in and year out. The leather on these are soft but not glove leather soft. It is a durable but supple leather that will ultimately gain a amazing patina overtime. Hope this helps.

    Brown, Chili, or Neutral?
    Asked by: ddd
I used brown and it looks good, I don't know if they have chili but if they do I'm sure it will look fine as well.

    Fifth Avenue leather finish

In online photos the Fifth Avenue in black seems to have a very polished finish while the Park Avenue in black seems to be more supple and show the leather grain. Is that a design difference between the two styles or is my perception of the online photos incorrectly drawing this distinction?
    Asked by: resoler
I submit that both have thier own leather character; the 5th does have a bit more shine straight out of the box; than the Park does. However, the suppleness and character of the [light] leather grain in the "Park" give it an extremely distinguished appearance. I posit that you are correct in your observation.
