STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

*For camo printed leather, simply rub our Leather Lotion onto print with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp cloth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoes Love the look of these shoes! Fits great and great quality! Stitching is even and the shoes are comfortable once broken in a little.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice shoe, questionable Quality Control... The good: The MacKenzie is a beautiful wholecut that effortlessly forms well and requires little to no break-in period. IMO some shoes are like cars in that the lines of certain models show better in certain colors. This shoe is one such example and IMO shows best in a dark color (though I also own a pair in Walnut, which get their share of wear as well). Slightly roomier than the 65 last, though I would suggest ordering in your 65 size. The MacKenzie is a true bargain at the closeout price at which this pair was purchased. The toe medallion works extremely well and fits naturally with the design, adding just enough visual interest to break the monotony that accompanies a plain-toe wholecut (I'm looking at *you* MacLennan). I think it's a shame AE discontinued these, and given the spate of one-offs that litter the pages of their catalogs, IMO they would do well to maintain a wholecut in their lineup. The bad: The shoe had a *very* noticeable 1.5 inch (3.5cm) scratch on one upper that should have relegated it to a Factory 2nd status, but as they are discontinued and out of stock in my size I could not replace it. Fortunately, I think with time and multiple polishes, the scratch may be at least partially "disappeared." The ugly: Too many QC issues with the "new" AE! Of a dozen pairs purchased in 2019, including this shoe, over half my orders have been returned, which is itself a time-consuming process.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality, comfort and style Great looking shoe, out the box comfort with style and a modern look

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish and versatile I am enjoying the uniqueness and comfort of this shoe. The subtle imperfections are a reminder that these are handmade-I appreciate this fact, perhaps the most about this shoe. As I understand, wholecuts require master craftsmanship-not every shoe manufacturer offers this type. I have the coffee color, and I wear mostly with chinos. It seems that these will be just fine dressed up or down-versatile. I would buy more, but this may be discontinued. Thanks AE for being a quality American company.

    Sizing Question

If I wear a 9.5D on the 65 last, what size would work here? It seems like these shows run big, so should I go a full size or half size down from my 65 last size?
    Asked by: Brandon
They run a little big but not enough to drop a full half size so I would stick with the 9.5 D.

    Heel makeup

I tried this model in the store. It had a leather stack heel with rubber insert. AE shows an all rubber top lift. Which one will it be going forward?
    Asked by: Shoenut
This style features the dovetail heel you saw at the store. We apologize for the sole picture error, it will be updated soon. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

    2531 last

I may keep missing it in the Last descriptor on site, but what is the basics of the 2531 last? I have a whole cut pair from the 333 last which has an elegant elongated toe. This looks more blunt in the pictures. Thanks,
    Asked by: Mick73
Just purchased two pairs of Mackenzies with the 2531 last. A 65 last fits me perfectly in a 10D and these, while fitting okay in length and width feel very sloppy in the toe-box. There's too much space around my foot with the laces fully closed. I even tried inserting a very thick memory foam insole and the toe box is still very sloppy, like an overshoe. I'm sending mine back immediately to exchange for something in a 65 last. If you have a wide and/or fat foot, these might work well for you, but I have a pretty standard sized foot for a man and these just feel sloppy. I now understand why they're on clearance at $167. It's a beautiful shoe, just not on my foot.
