Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfortable & Stylish I couldn't be happier. Got these on sale and they are the most comfortable dress shoes I have ever owned. I have been wearing A-E shoes since I grew up in Milwaukee and they've never failed me. September 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great shoes for travelig I have been looking for a perfect pair of shoes for traveling that can be paired with formal and casual outfit. This pair fall under the requirement and great to be walking shoes. The leather finish is high quality, soft and smooth. Love the combination sole, looks good and provide good traction. Highly recommende if you need to walk a few miles a day. September 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great casual / business casual shoes Love these shoes. Different last than the 65, with much more room in the toe box. I'm a 2E in the 65, but I ended up in a D in these. Also, I found the chromexel to be much less stiff than AE calf, so it's easier to go with a slightly more snug fit. Great look. September 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great first impression Third pair of AE dress shoes, after a couple of different colors of Park Avenues (Maritimes don't count). Got them in brown, along with the mandatory shoe trees. These took essentially no breaking in; they were comfortable and basically unnoticeable from the moment I put them on (except when I looked down!). And they're a great style halfway between full dress and casual, with the wood sole and wingtips. I'll wear them with a blue suit or blue jeans. The fit is a bit looser than the Park Avenues (could maybe sub 12EE or 12EEE for the 13D I got), but it's not so loose as to be a problem -- no heel slip, e.g. I'm no expert on the various lasts. Highly recommended. September 13, 2016

I only wear AE shoes, except for various tennis shoes. Since 2003, I've purchased over 50 pairs. Fantastic shoes!

Answer:
Although the color is listed as "brown," suggesting a medium brown, it actually looks like dark chili to me. It is less glossy than calf, due to the more casual chromexel leather. I own the McAllister in dark chili, and the shade is nearly identical when I put them next to each other.

Answer:
The Alumnus style is not designed with the depth to accommodate a removable insole. To see the styles that we currently offer with a removable insole simply click 'Shoes' on the top left of our home page, and then select 'Removable Insole Shoes' from the menu on the left.

However, if the shoe is fit large enough, orthotic inserts could be used in almost any of our shoes. It is important to keep in mind that the use of an orthotic will alter the way a shoe fits; we recommend trying on your orthotics with the shoes and visiting one of our master fitters at our retail stores as they can recommend the best possible fit.

Answer:
The 2321 last is similar to the 1757 last, designed with a slightly more narrow toe used primarily for dress-casual shoes. It has a wider appearance in the forepart for a relaxed attitude. This new last offers a desirable, versatile look that you can dress up or down.

The lacing is open, so whatever else you might want to call it, an oxford it is not.

Answer:
The meaning of Oxford can vary geographically and in general an Oxford can be classified as a Balmoral and a Derby as a Blucher. However, historically Oxfords are defined as any lace-up dress shoe with a low heel that can include both Balmorals or Bluchers. At this time, we use the latter to categorize most of our dress shoes online.
